| 301 | Alison Toni | We are working together to save all the threatened nursery, primary & secondary schools in Edinburgh.
I am a Cameron House Nursery School parent. |

| 303 | Susan WIlson | My family have been going to this school as far back as 1880's and wish to express my horror that this is one of the schools closing as it has served the community very well, the building is historic, well maintained and will be standing long before the new ones that are being put up now. Yes the facilities may not be as good but the school is very functionable and a joy to be in. Then again it is also prime housing land is that why the council are choosing these old buildings. Please think about this these buildings will be stil standing long after we have gone, the children need to be taught somewhere because the new ones will not last and eventually cost us the tax payer more again. |
| 304 | Madge Turnbull | As a parent who has had to fight to save my sons previous school I feel frustrated that this is happening all over again!
My son loves Victoria school and I have seen a big change, for the better in his behavior since he started attending two years ago.
I am saddened by this situation and so is my son. I will do what I can to support the school action group as I feel strongly Victoria is an excellent school which should stay open. |

| 306 | david corson | This school has served the community since 1844 and should be retained to serve the new houses being built in the area. |
| 307 | George Robinson | It is a sad day to hear that my old school may be closed as I grew up in Newhaven and went to Victoria primary school as did my brother and mother we even had the same teacher
It is bad enough that the fish market is gone but to hear that the school may close really shocks me
I may live in Australia but my childhood memories are still with Newhaven |
| 308 | David Morris | The school needs to be saved on education grounds, we must think of our children first not on money. Being an accountant that was educated at Victoria, went to scouts there, lived opposite the school and loved growing up in such a good area of Newhaven I chose to send my two girls to Victoria and hope to see my future grandchildren go there. I still live in the area and I think it is an asset that should be saved. I also find it amazing how the council can’t afford to keep open schools when it can pay to have all the politicians kited out in new uniforms (Robes) which have an approximate cost of £3000 each!! When I voted I thought the people’s views and opinions of Newhaven would have been heard not dismissed. In fact not just Newhaven but the whole of Edinburgh!! The public is against this and their views need to be taken into account. Your party is letting everyone who had faith in you down and this will not do any good in future regional elections!!! A council is elected by the public to represent them and is also supposed to serve the public but so far all you have done is made parents, teachers, school pupils, nursery’s and other organisations life a misery! You should be ashamed! |
| 309 | Heather Brunton | I wish to protest at the proposal to close Victoria Primary School. I am firmly against this short-sighted policy of closing schools in Edinburgh. I myself was schooled at two Primary Schools in Edinburgh which are now under threat. |

| 315 | john davidson | there would be no point your taking the history out of newhaven and upsetting the community and a great loss to the pupils |
| 316 | Patti Smith-Macleod | |
| 317 | D M Ratcliffe | Although many years ago, I still remember the school fondly and I have no doubt that it gave me a sound start to my education as it did for my brother and sisters before me. Long may it continue to give this high standard of education to the local children of Newhaven. |
| 318 | Rami Okasha | This is a badly thought-out scheme that will fail local pupils and parents. See also http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/stopthecuts/ |

| 338 | Mairi Ferris | I am firmly opposed to the closure of Victoria primary school. This school provides excellent learning opportunities for the children within a close-knit supportive envirnoment. Closure is in direct opposition to policy to reduce class sizes and is short-sighted in terms of the future population of the area. |
| 339 | Anonymous | To shut Victoria this year when there are rumours that it will be amalgamated with Fort next year...to then have the kids move again to the new school being built on the new development, for the same kids to then to be heading to the big school the following year does nothing for their self confidence or level of school care that is supposed to be afforded to every primary school child. A child is not a commodity but a real person with rights. |

| 346 | lindsay risk | Hi, small schools are so important in our community. Good Luck and very best wishes with your campaign. |
| 347 | moira cowan | Even though I now live in Christchurch nz, our
family stayed in Annfield Newhaven and my
daughter attended Victoria primary school.
I am angry too hear it is being threatened with
closure and would like too add my name too the
petition. |
| 348 | ELIZABETH GORDON | As an ex-pupil of this WONDERFUL school (1960 - 1972) I object to this closure even being considered. DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN |
| 349 | Margaret Laing | Why close perfectly good schools when there are qualified teachers looking for jobs. Our children deserve the best education they can get. This is one of the reasons our country is going to the dogs. |
| 350 | Leanne McKenzie | I hope that Victoria Primary will not be closed as this primary school is a great local school with top class teachers. It would be very sad to see the closure of VIctoria Primary School.
