Anna Bell | Due to the strong community spirit, high standards and excellent teacher/pupil ratio, it would be a real shame to see this school close. These types of schools are few and far between and are being replaced by larger, 'modern' schools where children are often lost in the numbers.

Bill Oliver | I urge Edinburgh Council to take a more enlightened approach to Childrens education other than Pence/Pupil. Newhaven is an expanding community with lot's of new housing and shopping. The current Village environment provides an ideal link from the past to the future.

Murray Kendall | Should not even be getting considered in the first place. How ridiculous is this society, where we can happily spend billions on a white elephant like the tram system in one hand, and close our schools with the other.
Hugh | say no to all school closures!!!!
Phil Harris | I don't see any point in reducing the number of educational establishments in a city whose population is expanding.
AndyL | Reconsider these school closure decisions!....the council will probably sell the land off for flats/houses.....the population of Edinburgh will rise more, and guess what?....they will then say "oh, there's not enough schools for all the new kids"....thats 'cos you closed them, you idiots!!

Lynne Dalgleish | I attended Victoria Primary in the year 1965, I have also had neices who have also since attended the school. This school plays a very big role in the heart of a small community and it would be a very sad loss to everyone who has every been ivnvolved with it.

Robert Dickson JNR | As a former pupil I am extremely dismayed at the prospect of this closure, Vicky is a local school with a great history, I am surprised with the rise in the local population this is even being considered. How far will children have to travel if it does close?

Eric & Margaret Widdicombe | .We strongly support our grandson's school. It is giving him an excellent start in his education: small classes, good discipline, personal attention and support. The whole atmosphere of the school expresses warmth and imagination. As a visitor you feel there is an ongoing tradition of generations of local children receiving an education for life. We are very impressed by the conduct of the pupils, in school and out, and feel social development is a very important part of producing a fully rounded individual. This is what our grandson is receiving at Victoria Primary.
Donald Heron | I understand that the council need to save money since they have wasted so much but, as usual, they close the schools and post offices which are well used by the community. You could save more by scrapping the proposed tram.
