Thomas da Silva | Where is a tax revolt when you need one? These arrogant statists ought to learn the wrath of an enraged populace!
Anonymous | This bill is an outrage
Frank McCraw |
Charles Dobrovolny | This is an attack on Virginians
Mike Kendall | The petition should not be focused on the abusive driver fees alone. All of the other taxes/fees will impose a significant burden on already over-taxed Virginians. Perfect drivers will suffer as a result of this ridiculous legislation which is also unconstitutional.
Jim Moore | I think that this law should be changed.

Patrick | Why is Kaine and Albo still in office? Vote them out people
| 4310 | Anonymous | This is further encouraging people to register our of state, which avoids VA personal property tax and insurance rates.
There are a lot of NC plates on cars parked or garaged in virginia all year! |
Rebecca C. Tatem | My daughter got a reckless driving ticket for bumping a cart in the Wal-Mart parking lot! It rolled into a lady and the police were called. What an over reaction compounded by these ridiculous fees! She has been so worried about it that she fainted in the Court House last week before her case was heard. She is only 20 years old. I didn't know you could even get a ticket in a parking lot! We are all subject to crazy people!
Anonymous | i have been in virginia for over 35 years and all this bill does for me is makes me want to move. i for one can not aford this bill or any others like it.
Anonymous | We need to get rid of dishonest representatives like Albo. What a revenue generator for him and his lawyer cronies. Simply disgusting :(

AK Kennamore | Repeal, I was not affected but did not see people slow down for these either (it's because it's harder to get picked out of a pack when you all are speeding, etc). Cops were targetting VA drivers and ignoring the bad habits of non-VA drivers. We truly were providing $$ and we were like duck in a duck hunt, find as many to pull over and ticket as possible because money had to be made.
| 4318 | Andrea Evans | All I will say the lawmakers have heard. I see this another way to punish and in many cases financial devistate the mid to low income people who are struggling to survive as it is. With so much pain in their lives many do choose to self medicate. I can see punishing a repeat offender say the third occurence in two - three years for speeding 20 mph over limit, or three moving violations in two years. But to punish the first time offenders to this degree is sad.
Thank you, Andrea Evans recently moved from Virginia Beach 23451 to Portsmouth 23703. |
J. Salisbury | This is as un-American as it gets.
Daniel Dougherty | ridiculous abuse of power.

Anonymous | We support the above petition.
Anonymous | The citizens of Virginia are the ones being abused by these ridiculously extortionate "fees"
Anonymous | I have not had a ticket in 21 years, but these implemented fees are unconstitutional, and are completely harsh for Virginia's tax paying hardworking citizens. I was appalled and disappointed to learn that the representatives in my district both voted in favor of these fees. Delegate Chris Jones, and Senator Fred Quayle should be ashamed. I have no idea what they were thinking
Easton F Peckham | I think that the state should repeal all abusive driver penalties as it feels more like legalized larceny, due to the fact that you pay a fine and court costs already. I seems as if you are being tried twice by the state of Virginia. I am a former police officer with 27 years without a ticket until November this past year. The violation will cost me $1021.00 for a $50.00 ticket by the state code.

Anonymous | Politicians should read the Constitution.
Nikki marshall |
Cynthia Roberts | I urge you to repeal this law. We don't want partial modification of these fees, we want them completely repealed!

Anonymous | I think the fees are ridiculous. We found out that when you hydroplane and damage your own vehicle (and no other vehicles involved) you get a wreckless driving ticket! Fees need to be repealed and if you have to pay it should be reimbursed if law is changed.
Debra Franklin |
Michael Woodard | This is crazy! I cannot afford this.
Heather Bixler |
Anonymous | These fees are excessive and injurious to Virginians' financial welfare. The fees charged are abusive. They neither remediate past actions nor teach safer future behavior.

Abe Sbitan | These fees are outrageous and need to be repealed immediately. I think we pay enough in taxes to cover Virginias expenses
dejan neskovic | Get this ridiculous fees off our back!
