| 4206 | Anonymous | I feel that these penalties undermine our liberty and justice by side stepping legislative due process to generate funds for unassociated and underfinanced allocations. We have state legislature, and our politicians should use it. This bill was a bull shit means to their desired end! |
| 4207 | mary anderson | please eliminate this |
| 4208 | Amanda Lawson | |
| 4209 | jeff snyder | This is an unfair burden on va citizens and a lazy way for legislators to increase income |
| 4210 | VANESSA | MICRO MANAGEMENT . HURT THE POOR HELP THE RICH . WHERE DOES ALL THE FUNDS GO THAT ARE GIVING BY THE STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERMENT AND WHAT ABOUT ALL OF THE MONEY VIRGINOA STATE LOTTO HAS GIVEN THE STATE WHERE IS THIS MONEY GOING . SOME ONE NEEDS TO DO SOME INTERNAL INVESTIGATION. |

| 4212 | Anonymous | Fees are ridiculous...my husband had a very minor fender bender and we know have to pay a total of $1241 to the DMV and General Court all in ONE month! Not possible! |
| 4213 | Anonymous | Please change this! |

| 4215 | Tom Grasso | Outrageous fines! And the fines don't apply to out-of-state drivers? BS!!! |

| 4218 | Caremellita Sims | READ SIGNATURE 4212 -
Fellow Virginians - What are we waiting for? VIRGINIA GENERAL ASSEMBLY - CLEAN UP THIS MESS NOW !! BEFORE MORE HARD WORKING VIRGINIANS ARE BANKRUPTED.
Read the Washington Post Series by Tim Craig. Especially the August article about what a social and financial fiasco these fees have become in New Jersy and Michigan (which is in the process of completely repealing the fees after 3 years, and 750,000 drivers license suspensions for inablity of drivers to pay the fees). NJ suspended 200,000 licenses in ONE YEAR - due drivers inability to pay the fees - NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR DRIVING RECORDS! |
| 4219 | Anonymous | Dude - lady 4212 lays it down - who has that kind of money? |
| 4220 | Patrick Steele | Our representatives are not supposed to be our opponents, enemies, or oppressors. |
| 4221 | Joseph F. Wilson | THESE FEES ARE ABSURD AND ABUSE THE CITIZENS OF VIRGINIA. REPEAL THEM NOW.
YOU ALL SHOULD NOT ONLY BE VOTED OUT, BUT STRIPPED OF ANY BENEFITS NOW OR IN THE FUTURE FROM YOUR SO CALLED PUBLIC SERVICE! |
| 4222 | M.Caldwell | This is unfair to Va residents and needs to be repealed at once. The financial burden on Va.'s hard working families will cause hardships not to mention the time people will take off work to go to court to try to fight traffic tickets. |

| 4224 | David Caldwell | I voted against Brandon Bell in the Primary because of his vote on this bill. I would suggest anyone vote thier representives out of office in November if this bill is not reealed. |
| 4225 | Jr Stevens | They don't want to represent us (the people). So let's throw them out in November. |
| 4226 | Allen | HIGHWAY SPEEDS ARE POSTED WAY TOO LOW FOR THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC SO THE STATE CAN MAKE MORE AND MORE MONEY AND RUIN LIVES.
Check out this site to help fight tickets and obtuse laws:

| 4229 | Anonymous | I think it is unfair to have such high fees on speeding for Virginia residents. |
| 4230 | John Amatetti | Publish a list of all the legislators that voted for this so we can vote then all out of office the republicans and democrats alike. |
| 4231 | RACHEL YARASAVICH | |
| 4232 | Kimberly McFee | Thank you for the listing of who voted this new law in. I will take their names down to pass around to friends and colleagues to make sure they change their vote for future elections. |
| 4233 | Kathy Suddueth | |
| 4234 | david | NOT FAIR |
| 4235 | Shaun Tenan | The punishment should fit the crime. In this case it certainly does not. It seems the politicians forgot about justice and fairness when they decided on a way to collect money for roads. Maybe you should have considered a gas tax afterall, Albo. People can afford an extra 5 cents a gallon more than they CAN'T afford a $3000 dollar speeding ticket with annual fees attached. Think about it. |

| 4240 | Joe King | signer #4226 Allen has it right - the posted speed limits are ridiculous and mandanted by federal impositions/regulations on highway funding - that are under the DIRECT INFLUENCE OF LOBBYISTS FOR THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY! (the industry that profits far more than any local government each and every time a traffic ticket is written!!!)
Our highway speeds are not set at the speeds they were designed for and are not posted at the "85th percentile" (average comfortable speed of 85% of the drivers using the road). Most speed limits on highways and boulevards should be increased by at least 10 MPH on average (no - I am not talking about residential streets and schools zones, so no one start jumping up and down about neighborhood safety issues - I am talking about major roads and travel routes). |
| 4241 | Jeffery Groves | I am very disappointed in everyone who passed this Bill. |

| 4243 | marvin | I live in va Jena Beach!!!!!!!!! |
| 4244 | marvin | I live in va Jena Beach!!!!!!!!! |
| 4245 | John Mullins | All this law is doing is increasing the number of suspended drivers on the road by thousands because many cannot pay the fee's. If they need money for roads tax it or toll it. |
| 4246 | Anonymous | this is crazy don;t you think we pay emough in taxes here already? |
| 4247 | Anonymous | This totally insane! Tax the residents of Virginia, but not the passersby?? It's all totally political a ploy to rip off the public. I understand that if these fees are termed fines instead of remedial whatever, then the money constitutionally must to other places in the state budget pot. Being called remedial fees and not applying them to out-of-staters, makes them a non-fine and the state can use them for the roads.
I have NO faith in 98% of our legislators at this point; that also goes for the federal "representatives". |
| 4248 | James Burkhart | Civil Remedial Fees is a bad Bill for Virginians , and sould be repealed completely and immediately. |
| 4249 | Ellis Sharadin | All citizens are to be treated "equally before the law", but in this case it appears Virginians are to be unfairly penalized by outrageous add-on fees, just to promote Governor Kaine's transportation agenda. This amounts to taxation without representation, and certainly not by the Will of the People. Please repeal this bill! |
| 4250 | Greg Ricciardi | This is nothing but extortion !!!!! I know, I was a resident of NJ. Is VA becoming as corrupt as NJ ? |
