Gavin BrownFactories of this nature should be placed in unpopulated areas and there is no shortage of such places in the vast Turkish landscape.
Claire CorbettFirst of all I would like to sayUzumlu is a beautiful village and populated by very kind, courteous Turks. Building a cement factory SO close to Uzumlu, Incerkoy and the surrounding villages would seriously damage the health of the population, especially children. Cement dust, once in the lungs, can never be removed and causes emphysema. There is a school only 2/3 kilometers away from the proposed cement factory. think of the children.
Jan MansfieldIf a cement factory is built in Uzumlu, it will destroy one of the world's most beautiful areas. It will also cause pollution, not just in the immediate area, but the surrounding areas too; and with that - health problems. The local economy will suffer; because it won't be just be businesses who will suffer terribly, but the locals too. It will affect tourism; not just in the immediate area, but as far afield as Fethiye itself. It will be an environment and economic DISASTER!
Louise DennisMy parents live in Uzumlu having moved from the pollution of the UK a couple of years ago . It will be awful to see that area ruined ,and the air ,which is so clean be destroyed .My concerns too, are for them having problems in the near future selling on their house ? Please dont let this proposed development go ahead and spoil such a beautiful unspoilt piece of paradise

Stuart GroomThis must NOT happen!
Janice TaylorThis area is one of outstanding natural beauty and deserves to be designated as a national park, not a site for a cement factory. The national and local government could use the abondonment of this plan as further proof of how seriously they take environmental issues, promoting Turkey as a leader in ecology.
Vanessa McFallThe whole thing will be a tragic scar on the wonderful landscape, not to mention the health aspects from the dust. This must not go ahead

John ParkerI echo Vanessa's comments.

Mandy KillaspyUzumlu is an area of outstanding beauty and it would be criminal to spoil it with a factory of this nature, not only in terms of dust pollution but also in the added vehicle traffic and associated noise.
Mike KillaspyI agree with Mandy's comments

Arif Hikmet KozanI have been also fighting an another quarry right above the residential area in Uzumlu village by Cameli-Denizli road which owned by Her Is Ltd. since 2005. They also producing pollution, noise and damage to beautiful enviroment of this valley. They are not very active nowdays but still using that quarry. In 2005 January a big boulder came down to residential area by crossing that Denizli-Cameli road. They have been told to water the quarry area regularly to stop the pollution also only work between 08.30am till 17.30 but they do not follow those rules. I hope you can succeed and stop all thos quarries around this beautiful valley. Best regards, Arif H.Kozan
Mike WalkerThe proposed factory is out of keeping with the natural beauty of the valley & the surrounding area.It should be built in an area designated for industrial use with better road access.
Mel BrownAnother natural environment would be lost .
Judith BrownCant believe it
Malcolm AinsleyWe have an apartment in Calis and our daughter has a traditional stone cottage in Uzumlu, that we often visit. There is already a lot of development going on, it would be a tragedy to industrialise the area.

Andy MunroNo to the cement factory. We have a house in Uzumlu and do not want the tranquility and surrounding countryside ruined by the polution from such a plant.

richard waltonYou MUST NOT go ahead with the Cement Factory! This is such a lovely part of the world that is now becoming a more frequently visited area by tourists and foreign investors alike. Such a development would simply ruin the area!
