| 1252 | Lisa Jiang | UChicago is way too cool for the common app. |

| 1254 | addie davis | my son found elizabeth garthwol wallet on the bus. and we want return it to her. she can come to 229 east garfield blvd. and get it. ask for someone at SAVING OUR SEEDS |
| 1255 | Emmy M | The UnCommon app is just one of the things that makes me so proud to have been accepted into the Class of 2011 at the University of Chicago. Deciding not to use it (or even modifying it at all) is taking away an important part of Chicago's tradition of uniqueness and excellence. Although it may result in a larger number of applicants, I am concerned that some students who apply may now only be doing so because the school happens to accept the Common App, not because they have a great passion or thirst to be somwhere like the U of C. |

| 1258 | Anonymous | The use of the UnCommon Application is quite possibly the biggest determining factor as to why I want to come to UChicago. In fact, it was the first thing about this school that caught my interest. I came accross some past essay prompts and flat out decided "This is the school for me." Please don't take it away. |
| 1259 | Alice | Yes, perhaps getting rid of the UnCommon Apps will attract more applicants and raise UChicago in college rankings, but how many of those future applicants will actually be suited for the school and not applying just for the prestige factor? |

| 1262 | Anonymous | I applied using the UnCommon app, and although it was a bit of a pain, as no information transferred over and I had to reenter everything from the Common app (parents' names, activities, etc.), it was well worth it.
keep the UnCommon app, U of C! |

| 1268 | Will Quinn | I applied to the University of Chicago last year, and occasionally kick myself for choosing to go another certain school in Massachusetts. The Uncommon App was a big draw for me, and had the best questions of any application I filled out. UChicago is so unique, and shouldn't sell its soul for the sake of "higher visibility." |
| 1269 | Theodore Riquelme | No other application actually impressed me or made me want to go to a school. When other people complained about applications in high school, I bragged about mine. It was fun, and made you want to talk to your fellow students. |
| 1270 | Mike Martin | The best application I've ever seen. It's why I applied - why would you get rid of it? Here's my signature. |
| 1271 | Joanna Bryson | Change is good, but not change to conformity, esp. when you are better than average. Why do something like this when you are in the Singapore world rankings top ten? |
| 1272 | Bradley Pennington | Save the Uncommon!! Get a hold of Zimmer's schedule and catch him coming out of a meeting. Protest around his house, it's on campus for god's sake!! Message to his face!! |
| 1273 | Shellin Nwangwa | |
| 1274 | Dan McCormick, AB '02 | This essay was the sole reason I picked this school. |
| 1275 | Renee Gerber | Class of 2004.
The Uncommon Application was the main reason I applied to UofC. It made me realize UofC wasn't like all the other "top" schools I could apply to and knew more about. |
| 1276 | Cassandra Phillipps | I loved the unCommon app! Perhaps it is pretentious of me, of all of us, to assume we deserve a different application than others, but this school stands out. Lets keep it that way. I know both my boyfriend and I refuse to donate funds until we know the unCommon app is secured. |
| 1277 | Sheila Oh | |
| 1278 | Connie Alexakis | My favorite question was 'Name something from outer space'. |
| 1279 | Abraham Neben | The Uncommon App fits for an uncommon school. You don't help the University of Chicago by lowering its standards. |
| 1280 | Claire Hellar | |
| 1281 | Elizabeth Brott | I pretty much applied to the University of Chicago because of the Uncommon Application.
Get rid of your nonconformist application, dearest Chicago, and you'll scare away all the nice little nonconformist applicants! (And everyone knows that we snubby little nonconformists are, in fact, smarter than our conformist counterparts.) |

| 1285 | David Willey | |
| 1286 | Joseph Carroll | |
| 1287 | Jake Whitaker | I just was accepted into the university and i believe that this application is one of the reasons which makes this university so different. To change it would destroy one of the things which differentiates UChicago from all the rest of the universities. |
| 1288 | Ralph Patrello | |
| 1289 | Joshua M. Jowers | I recognize that the stated reasons are appropriate goals for a university constantly striving for excellence such as ours, but I must say that I find these means completely undesirable. I am certainly cognizant of the fact that any new administration has a period of adjustment, just as a university must adjust to its new administration, however I feel that this decision must have been made without an appropriate amount of consideration of and consultation with alumni. We alumni are extremely proud of the preparation necessary for entry into our esteemed alma mater and completion of the uncommon application is one of the most cherished prerequisites.
I recognize that requiring prospective students to fill out another application is a means of self-selection, but I believe you'll find that alumni feel that such a requirement is a desired means thereof. I am adamantly opposed to the elimination of the uncommon application, even with the required addendum of the essays. We want students committed to the university and asking them to take the time to fill out OUR application is but a trivial first test of their interest in and desire to contribute to the University of Chicago. |

| 1291 | Alicia | Why strip the University of Chicago of one of its staples of uniqueness? |
| 1292 | Guadalupe Garcia | |
| 1293 | Mutisya Leonard | We cannot be generic. Period.
A school's application isn't just a way of reaching out to applicants... as far as Chicago is concerned, it's an identity. |

| 1297 | Zachary | I think they should keep the uncommon application |
| 1298 | Alicia Caillier | |

| 1300 | Kenny Ketner | Please save the uncommon app -- it was one of the reasons I applied to U of C in the first place! |
