7559 RickyKeene, JrHigh PointNorth CarolinaI am extremely interested in seeing this program get off the ground and become one of our future leaders through the education I receive at the academy.
7560 CarlosRosarioMiamiFloridaAs a former appointee to the U.S. Air Force Academy, I support this long overdue idea 100% of a federal academic institution that exists to prepare people for service not just at Department of Defense agencies. Hopefully it will have ROTC programs.

7580 daneallmanwest hillscait would be a nice option for those who wished to serve our country without having to kill people to do it. Still learn discipline and dedication at an early and impressionable age that could carry into financial success.

7582 AnthonyRiveracranfordnew jerseyI believe the public service academy would be a great opportunity for those whose want to serve but can not gain acceptance to one of the military academies due to illness or handicap.

7587 JoudatAyazChapel HillNCBeing a public servant trained in a foreign country, I can fully appreciate the need for a Public Service Academy in the USA. This would go a long way in attracting, training and retaining young people who want to serve the nation.
7588 MichelleGuilmetteSierra VistaAZI have always supported the U.S. Military Acadamies, but have never had a desire to join the service. The idea of a civilian academy is a ground-breaking idea that will be a huge benefit for our country. The only negative aspect I see is that I cannot apply to go right now.

7594 ArtBeelerFranklintonNCAs a retired public servant of the federal government, the time is ripe for a public service academy to infuse leadership into the civil service of the United States. Leadership, which during a time when public service is often looked upon with disdain, is essential to demonstrate to the young people of this country that not only is public service a good career, but one which is essential for the continuing prosperity of our country. It is not much unlike what JFK said in 1961; but the difference is we have to have mechanisms to help young people make a decision of public service. The public service academy is the perfect mechanism.
