Walter | Hamilton | R907459 | Is the ACBL going to pay your lawyers if you get sued. I know ACBL threatened to cut off funds if your didn't act like good Bushies, but I doubt that those funds are close to the cost of a court battle. In the past I've witnessed the ACBL apologize for catching some pro cheating and pay them to make their lawsuit go away. When this becomes a legal matter you can be sure that the ACBL will not be there with monetary support.

Jason S. Meyer | Silver Spring, MD, USA | J220950 | I agree whole-heartedly with this petition. I also feel that these actions on the part of the USBF are tantamount to choosing political sides and this is uncalled for.

Michael B. Preston | California | N955815 | You simply must eliminate any requirement for a "rat" provision. Simply un-American. In fact, those who are in favor of such a provision should be removed from any position of authority as they are clearly beyond salvation.

Lorne Anderson | UK | | An appropriate punishment is to ask for a written appology and confirm they will not take similar action again at any bridge tournament.
Paul Hightower | Lexington, KY USA | 2567326 | If the sort of excessive punishment we've been hearing about is imposed on any of the players, I will at a minimum boycott International Fund games, and will consider resigning from the ACBL.

Darin Takemoto | Massachusetts | 7551053 (ex-member) | The ridiculous overreaction by US Bridge authorities over the legal and reasonable actions by the USA1 Venice cup team remind me of why I quit the ACBL, and are a reminder never to rejoin.
Lavern Wiebe | Unit123 | O387861 | I am appalled at the ACBL actions in this case. I read the sign, they did not even criticize the President of express a crtical opinion, only state the presumably true fact that they did not vote for him. If someone interprets that as a criticism, that says as much about their opiinion of the President as it does about the sign itself. I have seen signs before supporting causes of various kinds (breast cancer research, bridge summer camp, etc.) and unless the ACBL comes up with a policy forbidding all types of discourse it seems vindictive to pursue this particular case.
Bill Reich | Branford, CT | 0294812 | What they did was somewhat annoying and possibly innapropriate. A very mild scolding would be a reasonable response. No actual punishment that I can imagine would be _mild_ enough to fit.
