| 1 | Karen Kirk | Britain should be proud, that it has no facilities keeping whales dolphins, or porpoises captive.
These animals suffer mentally by imprisoning them, and forcing them to perform, things that they would not do naturally in the wild. No matter how well the conditions are inside these establishments, none are good enough, either in size, or internal environment.
Therefore please close this loophole, and keep the UK free of captive cetaceans |

| 24 | Maxine Campbell | Keeping dolphins and whales in captivity is mean and whoever in this world does it should be well and truly punished. They should stick them in a cage and see what they feel like then. |

| 26 | Cherie Davis | The last UK dolphinarium closed 14 years ago. Why would "Great" Britain want to allow itself to take such a huge step backwards in animal welfare? |

| 30 | Marie Marsh | The time has come to close this loophole once and for all. To allow the importation and display of cetaceans in the UK, would be a step backwards and should never be allowed to happen. |

| 41 | Anonymous | These animals are meant to be in the wide open seas. How would you like to be shut in the smallest room in your house for the rest of your life? |
| 42 | Zoe Dabb | |
| 43 | James Barnett | Cetaceans can never be maintained in a captive environment which caters for the social and behavioural needs of these free swimming top marine predators. All captive cetacean facilities are a compromise on cetacean welfare and should never be allowed in this country again (or elsewhere in the world for that matter). |
| 44 | Dan Jarvis | |
| 45 | Lisa Clarke | There is no need or place in the 21st century to house any marine mammal in captivity. Such facilities in other countries are in effect modern day circuses under the guise of so called 'Conservation, education & research'. All of which are very poor justifications and the majority of marine mammals are kept in appalling conditions with no consideration for the animals welfare. These facilities are uneducational, serve no purpose for conservation of a species and research practises are ethically very questionable. Conservation, education and research should be done in the wild where these animals are in natural environments and displaying natural behaviours. Any education ie. ecotourism should be non invasive. WISE operators used only and conservation should provided solutions to problems occuring in the wild. Any research proposals should be fully subjected to independant ethical review processes.
Yours sincerely
