7105 EDWARD THORNTONWHY WOULD YOU EVEN CONSIDER SENDING THIS YOUNG LAD TO CERTAIN DEATH IF DEPORTED.WOULD YOU SENTANCE YOUR SON TO DEATH JUST BECAUSE HE WAS GAY ?
7106 Shane CampbellI'm applaued that this is still seen as acceptable. Would we now be deporting blacks back to the southern USA if hanging them was still legal there? I think not. The EU should lead the way on this.

7115 Josh DixonThis is a disguisting case. Why does the british goverment want to send a teenager to the gallows. He is going to be hanged for being himself, what kind of example does that set to the rest of the world about britain. This is like Saddam Hussien all over again! only someone like him would of done that. so i think he should be allowed to live in peace

7120 TeriIt was not so long ago that the Western World considered homosexuality a psychiatric disorder. In recent times, democracies, which allow for free thinking societies, have largely shifted this belief – with the exception of religious organizations. Theocracies, however, seem to be intolerant of uniqueness and hold no value for the lives of human beings who do not blindly follow the teachings of the church. As a global society, it is important to recognize that the enforcement of governmental laws based on belief systems created and maintained through religious indoctrination does exist in certain parts of the world. We cannot expect to change the deeply ingrained mind-set of a nation like Iran over-night. However, we can provide sanctuary for those individuals whose lives are at risk of imminent danger or death.
7121 Linda Diane McMillanWe will be judged by how we have treated the most vulnerable.
7122 joanna MerrellTo allow this man to be deported and killed because of his sexuality would be an outrage, and would shame this country and it's citizens. This is not about choice, this is social cleansing at it's most despicable level, and a government that supports such acts should not be in power in a free country. if he is deported, Gordon can consider my vote lost to another party in future.

7129 Anonymousi can balive our own govorment would go through with such a thing, i would have thought that they would have granted asylum straight away. If they are ilogical enuff to send him back they are no better than the people who execute him. He has alreday sufferd enuf aspetialy the loss of his boyfriend and his family whether he gose back or not. he has my full support and the support of everyone i know.
7130 N CooperThis is hypocricy at its worst. The Iranian regime must wake up and face the reality of the world we are living in.

7136 Sarah FThe government won't extradite people wanted for crimes in their own country back there if they face the death penalty, but they won't offer asylum to someone who faces torture and execution back home simply for being gay, just goes to show the uk isnt as progressive as it thinks it is!
7137 Yaakov SullivanAs a gay American I would love to donate $1000 for Mahdi who has already been refused asylum in the UK and shall certainly face horrific torture and most likely execution if the British government is allowed to send him back to Iran . Please let me wnow what else I can do to help your couse. Thanks.

7147 Dave ShucksmithThis is a disgrace!.Lets behave like the civilsed, forward thinking Country that we boast that we are and do something to stop this cruelty. It is 2008 and far to many people both Gay and Straight have died for the right to be themselves. The British Government must put a stop to this!
