Save Turtle Beach Campground

The petition

The Sarasota County Commissioners are taking steps to close down the campground at Turtle Beach, south Siesta Key, in Sarasota, FL.
The commissioners have hired a planning firm from Orlando to create "concepts" for the future of the park.
Despite overwhelming public support for keeping the campground intact at recent public forums, only 1 of the 3 new concepts unveiled at the public forum on December 10, 2007 included a camground, and in that concept, the number of campsites was slashed from 40 to 23, and the campsites were moved away from the water and towards the road.
We respectfully ask the commissioners to not close down the only beach campground in Sarasota County.
