We understand and appreciate the Board of Directors (BOD) interest in improving the quality and reputation of our travel soccer program. We also appreciate the BOD’s assistance in identifying quality training resources.
However, we are concerned with the requirement that we contract with a sole training organization for a minimum number of sessions at a pre-determined cost. Specifically, we feel that this requirement is inappropriate, especially for younger players (e.g., 8 year olds) and for new teams that struggle with the burdens of start-up costs. Moreover, we recognize that priorities and interests may differ significantly from one team to the next. Hence, we believe decisions with respect to professional training should be left to the teams and their respective players/parents.
Please know that we respect the intent of this requirement and will develop an alternative toward meeting this objective. Further, we anticipate seeking the BOD’s guidance when we elect to explore professional training options. In the end, however, we would like decisions with respect to our children and our resources to be left to us. |
