263 Gwen CaldwellIt is time to free this man and let him get on with his life. The circumstances surrounding the death should be reason enough to release this man now, after all he has served a significant sentence for his crime. Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.

268 Pamela Rose PhDWhile the concerns and supports of the Tribal communities involving so many individuals on this man's behalf are what moves me to add my name to this petition, a second concern is this: with our prisons over-flowing and each prisoner's cost to the state still being more than a 4-year college degree, why are you failing to sign this commutation? The community has a place for him and any study of recidivism will show that community is the single most positive condition for release. You also know that getting such a grant from a parole board almost never happens. Do you not take their recommendations? Do you have this discretionary power? Can you not exercise it in a manner befitting a high official? Or have you simply misplaced it in the flurry of activity to desecrate the farms and the air with your reactionary resort to coal as a fuel and rail as its transport? And stripping women of their rights to critical choices? Is Women's Suffrage next to be undone? What you DO is so out of keeping with the statesman who speaks so eloquently and with such erudition. This state is lacking in so many modern realities in other states; ten phd programs so those seeking higher learning must leave the state, never to return. Teacher pay that falls just short of forced labor; yet these teachers without any supportive materiel' manage to graduate students with higher than average scores on the SAT! Industrial Revolution England did not burn coal until all the trees were gone because it is so DIRTY. How can you justify taking this state even the short leap back to the middle ages, complete with the actions of genocide against indigenous people? Don't you live here too? Don't you breathe? So far, nothing has impelled this state to have any emissions control or any governmental body to oversee emissions. Maybe a closer look will reveal that there is nothing impelling you toward justice, however delayed, for one of the 3% of Native Americans still living since Columbus landed. Thank you if you read this, Pamela Rose Phd

286 James A. PetersenI spent many years in Federal Law Enforcement and am very familiar with the particulars of Mr.Caffery's case. Considering the facts, this man has suffered a gross miscarriage of justice. It's past time to follow our higher human instincts and show some compassion; do the right thing Governor Rounds, not what is politically correct. Thank you, Capt. James Petersen -Rapid City, S.D.

296 Robin BurrittHang in there Tim, I know it's been a long time and the sentencing of non-indians murdering Indians have never been equal in this state, even when it is adults doing the crime. I know this sounds harsh but it is reality and you are living that reality so you know what I mean. I am on the AFSC committee and have supported this endeavor for quite some time. I also live in the community of LaCreek and know the injustice that goes on there to our people. Hang in there Tim and my prayers and heart are with you! Wopila for being strong!

299 Jody JaversakDear Governor Rounds, Please don't fall into the Judge Judy trap of forgetting that: "There, but for the Grace of God, go I". Remember how lucky you and I are to have never had to live a life or face a situation like this. Sincerely, Jody Javersak
