| 1260 | Kate | Paterson | As a teaching hospital consultant I completely support the views of these medical students. Talents and application are not being rewarded |

| 1262 | melvinder | basra | sort out MDAP, its a farce. we pay the london fees to study here, we deserve to be able to be able to do both of our foundation years here, if we choose |
| 1263 | Mark | Lander | |
| 1264 | Dr Clive | Peedell | MMC is aimed at bringing down the entire medical profession, dissolving the Royal College influences and producing a cohort of sub-consultant grade doctors to do the donkey work. I am making it a priority of mine to bring a stop to MMC, by drumming up fellow consultant support. |

| 1266 | ves | agrawal | Unvalidated and ill thought out. Rushed into place without preparation. Hopeless. |
| 1267 | Chris | Theopold | There has to be choice in workplace application. This selection process is a farce and demonstrates the controlling nature of this Labour government. MMC is an absolute disaster, a sellout of students and doctors for media publicity. |

The system is totally flawed - we've being doing the pilot up here for a few years. I know someone who passed everything with flying colours - he got passed around the North East to a job he didn't want (the other alternative being not working) whilst a 'sporty' guy with enough BS to get points ended up with his first choice job at first choice hospital (yet he failed every exam at medical school)..
Slightly more concerning than the mess the system is in, is that we have to apply in a couple of months.. but does anyone actually know what the 'improvements' they've made are? So far, so very little information up this way!
Have you heard about after F2? When the UK's F2s are ranked by a computer that basically picks out 'buzz' words from your form?
Is that what I studied so hard for? I don't think so. |

"Modernising" is a euphemism for vandalising a postgraduate training system, which while imperfect, fulfilled its function. |
| 1280 | Rodric | Jenkin | GMC no 6078253
I think the MMC is a disgrace from start to finish and will have the worst impact on medical education in living memory. I am appalled. I think the MMC committee should be sufficiently embarrassed to resign. I think they have let down their profession. |
| 1281 | Marcus | Cope | |
| 1282 | Alison | Gill | MMC is not only devaluing medical training and producing substandard doctors, and as a result devaluing the entire profession, but is also causing a huge number of great doctors who should be an asset to the UK system to leave the country and take their expensive training to other countries where they're treated as the hardworking conscientious professionals that they are - Why are we introducing a whole new system and destroying careers in the process rather than just fixing the problems in the old system???! |
| 1283 | Thomas | Ball | Am a UK doctor. MMC a disaster. |

St Georges, London.
MMC is clearly going to be disastrous for both doctors and patients! |
| 1285 | Thushan | de Silva | |
| 1286 | Aodhan | Breathnach | (Consultant Microbiologist, St George's Hosp) Unnecessary change, strategically flawed and badly thought-through. Medical students seem mainly concerned about the lack of fairness in how they are appoijnted to F1 jobs. They should also worry, as I do, about the complete lack of flexibility in this new system - the old system allowed doctors to move around and gain experience as they chose, before specialising: this was to the benefit of the trainees and also the specialties they entered. This flexibility is gone - at the end of F2 you are expected to have a good idea what you want to spend the next 35 years doing, and it is not easy to change. If my children chose to study medicine, I would advise them to train abroad. |

| 1288 | Sarah | Willey | I am an SHO in the 'Lost Tribe' that will potentially end up with no jobs when the new system starts in Aug 2007. |
| 1289 | Polly | Jacobs | MMC is destroying medical careers and leaving many doctors with unaccetable levels of uncertainty about their futures. I find it hard to beleive that a new system has been put in place with so little consultation and no overlap between new and old systems of specialist training |
| 1290 | Rebecca | Fallaize | SGHMS 2003
The way I feel at present, I wonder why we bother coming to work when it looks like we're unlikely to end up in the job we want. People are heading to the "city" now. What a loss to the NHS and the UK people. |

| 1292 | Francis | Lockie | I have migrated to Australia to receive the best medical training. I initially came for 1 year but due to the confusion back home have decided to pursue higher training here. I hope with time British trained docs will regain their excellent reputation throughout the world |
