1202 AnonymousAnonymousI am not against randomisation of candidates, nor a point scoring system. I want a better method of assessing candidates and for consultant lead interviews for specific positions.

1223 AnonymousAnonymousI am from Barts and the Roal London medical school, currently undertaking a Bsc in my 5th year. Next year i do finals and as a student who was ranked 5th in the medical school in my 5th year I feel cheated by the system that now tells me I might hav well not bothered, because i would have achieved more by joining random societies and drinking myself to death. Achieving any academic standing in medicine is tough, and to be told that it now counts for almost nothing is heartbreaking. Not to mention the point that the patients at least should expect the bests posts to be populated by the best doctors and not the ones who scraped through by the skin of their teeth, but have a good self image!!!

1225 AnonymousAnonymousThis is what GMC has on the website and not sure anyone at MDAP even knows about! or they choose not to know! Choosing PRHOs Those responsible for recruiting to the Foundation Programme which includes PRHO training should put in place valid, reliable, open, objective and fair selection procedures to make sure they recruit candidates without being biased or unfairly discriminating against anyone. They should also publish information about the procedures, including guidance about how places on programmes will be offered and about the selection process. Those responsible for choosing PRHOs should include people with a range of expertise and knowledge. They should be trained to apply selection guidelines consistently and fairly. They must be trained to be able to promote equality and diversity (people’s different backgrounds and circumstances) and follow current equal opportunities legislation and good practice.

1233 AnonymousAnonymousRUMS - Before they opened up all foundation jobs to national competition, they should have standardised medical school exams across the country so that there is a fair comparison.

1237 Neelbhanderiso a candidate could have worked for 3 yrs and gained a PhD. It would be worth 4 points on the application form. Another candidate could use better english in answering one of the questions and this would be worth the same as a PhD?? Does that make any sense to anyone
