My daughters grandmother asked to help out since her son was in state jail and my oldest was in and out of the hospital and I agreed. She spent alot of time with her needless to say her grandmother filed for custody three years ago. Last month we went to court and I lost. I don't even understand I have a job, in school to get my RN already graduated as a medical assistant, my 4 bedroom house will be paid off in 4 years. She said I caused physical harm to my daughter then turned around and said she never saw any signs of physical abuse well the courts gave her sole custody and me nothing not even joint but ido get to pay 280 mthly childsupport. I didn't think the law was that messed up but now I know first hand. |

Before his dad went turned into a stranger, I wanted nothing more than for him to be a part of ours sons life. I was not asking for child support b/c I just wanted my sons dad to be in his life. He wouldnt do it. I filed for child support 1yr 1/2 ago. They told me that they could not find him, so my child support case was going to be thrown out b/c they could not serve him. I did some digging myself and found out that he was in jail. I told the child support office of the info, and they still didnt serve him. He was in there for 3 months. I had to write a complaint to the Osbudsman and that is why I finally got some action. They didnt want to take the time nor money to locate him because I would only receive a minimum wage payment, b/c he did not have a job. They use the money that they get from parents who are paying child support to get funds to use. |

I sit by and watch my kids suffer daily and can't do a thing to help them because the laws aren't there to back me up. I could go to court tomorrow with a million dollars and still probably not come out with not a bit more to help them out. I would probably get more by trying to buy my ex-husband off than try to stand up for my children in court. Sad, huh? He does pay some small amount monthly in child support and does see them for visitations but the mind games he and his wife plays on a constant basis is royally screwing them up. It is going to take a lot of therapy and a lot of love and support on this end to try and reverse their work. I would gladly give up what little child support I get monthly if he would just leave us alone. I just think our lives would be a ton better. My husband and I would be more than enough support for our two children. Texas laws need to be changed to truly protect the children!!!!! |

I am Mary West, my child have been abuse by her father. when you call CPS to protect you child, they did nothing to help you. the same thing happen to me back in 2005. CPS help him to get the child back in his custody from me.I have her back in my custody for now. We had court hearing today. I have filed a TRO, back on July 28, 2008.
