Make Texas Hold'em an International Olympic Event

This is a petition to make Texas Holdem an Olympic Event adding it to the Olympic program in the year 2012. We will collect signatures for the next few years and then send them to the IOC by 09/09/2009. All of us who play know Texas Hold’em is a sport played with hope, faith, humor, and acceptance, and In its final evolution Texas Hold'em has begun to transcend all prejudice, whether your male, female, young or old, not regarding race, creed or even .... disability, anyone can live/play the game of Texas Hold'em, anyone can win. With over two million possible combinations of winning hands, Texas Hold'em has become “The Great Equalizer”. Texas Hold'em has even managed to become a universal language like the tower of Babylon itself, being taught, played, watched and discussed around the world. Texas Hold'em has begun to unite humanity with its passionate philosophy. For those of us who live the game it has restored our faith in hope and miracles, yes, a never-ending river of them
