Longmont Colorado Landmark / Ahlberg Chapel (326 Terry)

J.F. White and the Methodists built their second church between 1878 and 1882 at 326 Terry Street in Longmont, Colorado. It became the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel when the Ahlberg family purchased it in 1969. The Ahlberg Chapel portrays the Gothic Revival architectural style with key features including lancet windows, pitched gabled roof, round windows, and compound arched entrance.

At various times the original church has been known as the First Methodist Episcopalian Church, The Elim Lutheran Church, The Swedish Lutheran Church, and Seventh Day Adventist Church. Surveys of this property were completed in 1983 and 1992. In the 1992 Historic Building Inventory Record, the building was assessed as being in “excellent” condition and the extent of alterations was “minor.” It is shown on its original site, being built in 1882, and its “significance” being associated with significant events or patterns.

By signing this petition, I agree that the Ahlberg Chapel (326 Terry) meets the criteria for landmark designation by the city of Longmont without the consent of the owner including, the proposed landmark:
