Britton Webb | These courts are embarassing to the school, the town, and all tennis players that have to play on them. I played number 1 for the Orange High tennis team and went on to become State Runner-up my senior year, and am now playing at Appalachian State. I have been injured many times on these courts, and I have seen others injure themselves as well. It is amazing to me how long this project has been put aside, but as tennis grows in Hillsborough, which it is, safety should be atop the list. The way the courts are now, it's almost as if you're taking a risk just to play on them. They are slick, they don't have lines in spots, they have slight rises and falls in elevation, and the lights only work on occasion but not very well and are rusty. The tennis courts at Orange High School are embarassing and this community deserves better!

Julia Chauvin | We need this. Have you seen the public courts? Really? The lights are often out and/or don't stay on. There are large pits on the courts and the nets...oh the nets....Wait...what nets? This doesn't affect OHS or the school board, except to make a positive change. Why has this not happened yet?
Patrick | we need new courts very badly

| 60 | Anonymous | My family plays tennis on these courts alot, we hope they can be brought up to standards.
Thanks. |
Laurie W. Lee | yes !! Full Renovation is needed ........and as quickly as possible!! There are many groups of tennis players/students who would instantly benefit from a renovation...and certainly a significant number of new players would be attracted by improved facilities
John Hughes | I play regularly on the courts at OHS. Last year I fell and separated my shoulder. The courts are slick, pitted and dangerous. I am also embarassed when I take friends there to play.

Donna Webb | Please show the support to the youth and citizens of our county who are trying to better themselves physically and mentally by supporting the renovations of the Orange High tennis courts. Tennis has grown by leaps and bounds in Northern Orange County in the past 2 years. We need to show the people of Northern Orange that we value their wellbeing by providing them with a safe place to play. Thank you for your consideration of this very important matter.

Jonathan Dobbins | FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE GET NEW COURTS

Eva Kennedy | I have watched many tennis matches since my grandson is an accomplished tennis player now playing tennis for ASU. I was embarrassed when visiting schools came to OHS to play due to the conditions of the court. The Cardinal Gibbons coach even asked for the OHS team to come to Raleigh to play the home match against them because they did not want to play on the OHS courts due to the condition. Being an Orange County resident for over 60 years I believe the citizens of Northern Orange County, both young and old deserve a better place to play tennis then the only public courts available to them at this time. I hope you will find the funds to renovate the tennis courts at Orange HIgh to make them safe. This facility is well overdue for a face lift.

John McLean | Let's make a difference in the Orange County Community. The voice of the community is calling for your support to renovate Orange High School Tennis Courts. Say yes, to the $150,000 requested from the Orange School Board Capital Investment plan for 2007-08 for OHS tennis courts.
Frank Freeman | Building tennis courts assumes a responsibility to maintain them. The lack of maintenance and resulting condition of the courts reflects poorly on our community.
Jane Harrington | I would also like to see the courts at Cedar Ridge High School ( a public school funded by local tax payers) be made available to the public. We paid for them, we should be able to use them!
Delores Graham | Tennis is a lifelong sport and should be encouraged both in the schools and community. I played on a mixed doubles USTA team whose home base was the Orange High courts. It was sad to realize that the students, as well as adult leagues in Hillsborough, had to play on courts in such need of repair. The cost of fixing these courts will be very well spent.

| 78 | Tyler Lee | Love tennis !! Glad to have it coming back...now we NEED a safe place to play !!
PLease fix the courts !! |

Anonymous | The repair and maintenance of the tennis courts is way overdue and this sport should be given the same respect as other school sponsored sports. This is also a safety issue.
Twyla Wilson | I have played regularly in the Orange Cty Parks and Rec tennis program since I moved here 1.5 yrs ago. The courts are in appalling condition, and are a hindrance to qquality play. they are an embarrassment for middle and high school teams when other teams come to compete on the courts. Derisive comments abound and hurt the moral of the Orange players. We cannot have any USTA teams of residents from northern Orange county compete on these courts because of their substandard condition. They need resurfacing this year for the sake of the students and the community.
Caitlin King |
Judy Fisher | Please resurface the tennis courts at Orange High School.
Christian jobin |
Ann Ramey | new tennis courts are needed, and terribly so. Please provide. Thank you.

| 90 | Anonymous | These courts are badly in need of resurfacing. When facilities get run down as these have they pose an injury hazzard to our children. Then it costs the school more money in the near future because of the isurance cost to the school and subsequent lawsuit. It would be less expensive to have them resurfaced than it would to have our children injured on such poor conditioned facilites. The problem falls upon us all. If you do not improve the courts we pay more for medical costs on our kids. If you repair the courts the money comes form the tax payers anyway. Right? So one way or the other we Pay~ The Safety and welll being of our children is at stake Please make the necessary improvements. IT has been some time and it is time for the upgrade. Thank you

Sophie Bauers | As an athlete, one of the best feelings is having pride for your home field or court. When teams visit opposing schools, the players' and fans' first instinct is to evaluate the conditions of the arena on which they are about to play. I know that Orange High has much more respect for their athletics, namely their tennis program, than their old, run-down, and, quite frankly, unsafe courts would otherwise suggest. The players at Orange, as well as their fans deserve better courts than those on which they are currently having to play.

Christina McLean | I have played at Orange High Tennis courts for a high school match. I attend Southern High and we were very proud to be able to have our courts re-done. Me personally, i believe that they should have that same accomplishment. They have been complaining about these cocurts for years and haven't gotten results yet, so just give them their wish. Let them recieve the courts they've wanted forever and make the people of Orange High and the Hillsborough communities dream come true. God Bless.
