Dear Mr Macdonald QC,
We are writing to show our support for Ms Eileen Jia, partner of Mr Mi Gao Huang Chen who was murdered in Wigan, Lancashire, in a brutal and unprovoked race attack on 23 April 2005.
Eileen Jia not only witnessed the horror of seeing her loved one die, but barely managed to survive the attack herself. Her life has been shattered and her young heart broken.
However, Eileen's nightmare does not end here. Unbelieveably, she has been charged with common assault and affray by the police for daring to defend herself and attempting to save her partner.
As a society, we have always condemned racism. Why should an innocent grieving woman be charged for simply trying to defend herself? Eileen believes that she has been victimised by the authorities because of her race.
This case is only one of hundreds of similar cases reported to TMG Min Quan. Her experience explodes the myth that the Chinese Community is immune to racism. It also demonstrates that the Chinese community is victimised by the authorities whilst trying to defend itself against racial violence.
We urge you to review the facts of the case so that the charges against Eileen Jia can be dropped. We thank you in anticipation and look forward to receiving your response.

Aims of Min Quan
