TRUE SAINTS TO PETITION FANS OVER CLUB BOARD
The True Saints Association are arranging a petition to demonstrate the true depth of feeling against the way the current board of Southampton Football Club has allowed the name of the club to become tarnished.
We the undersigned wish to express our dissatisfaction with the way Southampton Football Club's good name has been tarnished over recent years. We urge the Board of the Club to take whatever steps necessary - be it a change of personnel or simply a change of direction – to recognise that results on the pitch should be of paramount importance and that success for Southampton Football Club should take priority over other aspects of Southampton Leisure Holdings.
The Chairman of the TSA said, “Saints were once known as a “family club” respected throughout the country for the way it was run. Over the past few years that reputation has changed. This is mainly due the constant barrage of criticism from the media, levelled at the way the club has been managed. The club we knew and loved has gone, replaced by a corporate profit at all cost PLC."
Central to this grievance is the conduct of Rupert Lowe and the Board of Directors
The TSA are calling on Mr Lowe and his Board, to consider whether, whilst running the PLC, have they always acted in the best interests of the Football Club?.
The TSA urges those Directors to take a look in the mirror. Ask yourselves, who is responsible for damaging the image of our club?
“Revolving door managers”
“Circus”
"Pantomime”
These expressions have all been used to describe the situation at Southampton Football Club in recent times.
“There appears to have been behind the scenes issues that have had an impact on how people perceive our club. "Point scoring” amongst senior personnel, has proved detrimental to matters on the pitch. This has to stop!"
“The time has come to act against the money men. We believe a match boycott would have little impact at this time and would damage morale, and performance, on the pitch. After all we are Saints Supporters and should support our team for 90 minutes during a game, whatever may or may not be happening off the pitch"
“This petition is simply the first step. The more that sign it, the stronger the case for further action to help fans re-gain the club they feel they have lost”
TSA committee members and volunteers will be manning the approaches to the ground prior to the kick off of the Sheffield United game, petitions can also be signed then. |
