Tennessee DNA Legislation

Johnia Hope Berry, 21, was brutally attacked and murdered in her home at Brendon Park Apartments in Knoxville, TN, on December 6, 2004. The murderer has never been located or arrested. TN House Bill 2649 and Senate Bill 2651 would greatly aid law enforcement in the capture of violent criminals. The proposed bills would require DNA testing of anyone arrested for a violent felony. Data would then be entered into the state registry, and later removed if the arrestee is found not guilty. Other states have adopted similar legislation, but Tennessee has not. Please help us locate Johnia’s killer, as well as other violent felons in Tennessee, by signing the petition. This petition will be sent to the Governor of Tennessee, as well as members of the House and Senate.
