IN THE NEW FOUND DEBATE OF SUPREMACY OF
PARLIAMENT OVER JUDICIARY
WHERE DOES THE AYODHYA ISSUE FIT IN? You decide!!
Ayodhya an emotive issue and is intertwined with the cultural and tradition of this great Nation. Similarly Kashi (Varanasi) and Mathura (Birth place of Lord Krishna) Irrespective of caste or creed, these places can develop an ecstasy and kindle the feeling of every Hindu No wonder that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh that believe in unifying the Hindus caught on to it and succeeded in uniting Hindus on a single framework.
Those opposed to this bent of mind are basically the Communists who are atheists and other religious bigots who cannot stand Hindus being united because it is not in their interest. Going by the cultural current and ground realities, these groups dare not oppose directly but have joined together on the platform of `Secularism’. Though they speak diametrically opposite language, yet by repeating it too often, they have dinned the theory that those who support the minority (Viz: Muslims & Christians) are secular and the others who do not are `Communal’. That this idea no longer holds good with the masses is proved by several results. But that is another story.
After the VHP succeeded by their methodical approach to the demand of Ramajanma bhoomi culminating in the demolition, the so-called pseudo secularists whipped up the faith in the Judiciary. As they had no faith and belief in Parliament because they were largely marginalized, it was a clever ploy. Not that they loved Judiciary more but they were afraid of the Hindus who dominated Parliament. Majority of whom irrespective of Congress, the BJP or any other Party were sentimentally and emotionally attached to the belief or undercurrent that was predominantly Hindu!! However, the trick worked and everybody started singing the same tune of Court settlement on the issue.
RSS & VHP who are democratic to the core were upstaged not to oppose the suggestion for they also believed in the Judiciary. It is not merely the determination of property or dispute of sacrilege committed against a particular community, which goes by evidence but several other intricate matters that are sensitive that would be discussed. Secondly the strong premise is that nobody has an authority to interpret or discuss about Lord Ram who is held in very high esteem, and if some sections do not believe in Him, it is purely their prerogative.
Unfortunately the Political spectrum is so divided and defensive that Shri Lal Krishna Advani, who was strongly convinced of the philosophy and came from the same school of thought, also got sucked in and became extremely defensive. What more, when in power he also started to talk diametrically opposite of what he believed or upheld!! No wonder that VHP was virulent in opposing this stand.
What better opportunity than the Goa & Jharkand episode for the protagonists of the Ramajanmabhoomi issue. The Supreme Court has rightly intervened in an issue that concerns the people. That too when it is shameful and utter disregard to breakdown of constitutional morality and principles.
While in Goa, deliberate attempt to misinterpret the statute to suit the Congress party throwing to whims the anti defection law and also moral propriety.
In Jharkand, it was blatant misuse of the office of Governor. There is no question of faith or belief that was being challenged and the self-respect and esteem of Democracy itself, that was in test. Democracy which is anathema to the Communists and which is only a means to them to attain their philosophy are now exposed.
No where in the world can we come across, the adage that a `Tail waging the dog’ principle as in India, Communists who are known for doublespeak and evaporating principles are now crying hoarse on the interference of the Judiciary.
In this background, we should now demand a clear debate on the twin issues before us and that is: -
v If issues relating to probity, transparency and horse trading concerning elected representatives cannot be discussed by Court. That too by mortals: Can the Court discuss and deliberate on issues that are Immortal such as faith, religious belief, tradition, culture and issues that are beyond the domain of knowledge?
v If Parliament is supreme in this debate and beyond the realm of the Judiciary (Lakshman Rekha) then why not Ayodhya be decided in the House of the people and why should it be referred to the Judiciary? After all Lord Ram was also worshipped as a King and rightly so that should also not be discussed by a Court? Isn’t it?
It is high time that the RSS, VHP and the BJP take the bull by the horn and discuss this issue threadbare. Let us see how our psuedo secular intellectuals react or get exposed?
This is a petition that will kick start the debate. Depending on the response, we will start a campaign that must decide the issue once and for all!!

Alert Hindus, is a forum of thinkers, academicians and intellectuals who are enlightened in the RSS mould and have been part of the movement. This forum strongly believes that the panacea for the ills of this country are provided by the basic edifice of the RSS prayer recited by every Swayamsevak in the Shakas. The synopsis of which is that:
“We salute our motherland, the great land of Hindus that we are comforted with. We surrender ourselves to serve you and safeguard with dedication. Give us strength that the Universe dare not venture or attempt to attack. Give us sterling Character that rest of the World would bow to. All this to make our Nation, glorious, effervescent and wonderful” (Not the exact translation but some sketchy extracts)
RSS is deliberately misunderstood, perceived negatively by calumny and mischief. Its virtues are not portrayed but some deliberate negative propaganda is carried out. Unfortunately, RSS does not believe in retaliation and wasting its energy on this negative energy. Thus putting them in bad light. The philosophy, principles of the RSS is positive, noble and an organisation that has absolutely no parallel in the world. Thoughtful, strong and growing every day, its methodology cannot be copied or duplicated. It is eternal and cannot be destroyed. However, members of the RSS being humans are bound to err and that is why hero worship is not encouraged. We who have seen, known and part of the RSS mould have decided on our own to combat this. |
