Tiffany Snow-Smith | Michael Holub is a professional young man with a great business sense and terrific work ethic. I know personally that he has a wonderful moral character and has high standards in all aspects of his life. I've been in his shop and it is strictly professional, but of course with a fun and youthful atmosphere. Clean and well run, a great place to get a tattoo, chat with some friends, or to do some artwork. I've been to him for several tattoos, and have known him since he got into this trade. Tattoos are an art form, and as has been said before, have really come a long way in their mainstream acceptance. If the Mayor and townspeople are really worth any salt, they will do some research on the cultural significance of this art form and realize that they are being narrow-minded ninny muggins (Elf) in their archaic thoughts of banning this great business from remaining established or further development. I know Michael only wishes to improve his business operations in the most professional manner. Plus, I know his Mom and she's a funny lady who I enjoy talking to. And another thing, I named my horse Tattoo after getting a tattoo from Michael, so tattoo's are certainly more than skin deep. There are people, cultural significance, personal expression, and a lot of history associated with them. Thank you.
Chrissa Kowalski | I think that it is absoultely shameful that a legal business that provides something as mainstream as tattoo art should be resigned to the back alleys of a town like Hackettstown. I suppose that if tattooed people are unwelcome on Main Street, then we should stop frequenting all of the other businesses on Main Street as well.

Brian Banghart | its wrong for them to shut you down. if its not doing anything wrong to the town then why ban them? its just a bussines so i dont see why it has to be closed
Stacy |
Michelle Manos | How about stopping that check cashing place from coming to town? Right on Main Street, RIGHT next to our old friend Leo's. Check cashing haha... now THAT'S class!

Cassandra Bressler | Hello I am a 28 year old female who works in the corporate world. I have 5 tatoos. Getting tatoos does not equal negative behavior. Tatoos in this day and age are very popular. YOu should not ban a private business because you feel that it contributes negativity!
jason capozzoli | they are good people
Renee Alfaro |
Shaina | I think that Michael Lavery needs to worry more about getting drug dealers and child rapest out of his town instead of wasting his time trying to discriminate against people and their art. Also another thing..I hear he is trying to take out Nail salons as well.I know that for darn sure that a nail salon will bring a classy person that likes to feel relaxed and beautiful before it would bring a horrible robber to town.

R Dean | This town has gone to hell quickly, glad I got out. I knew Mike when he FIRST opened and am happy to hear he is still operating his business in Hackettstown and now living there as well. Good for him! Hope it all ends well.
David Conklin | Its a fair honest living and art. If some up tight mayor Lavery don't like it he DONT HAVE TO BE MAYOR NO MORE. HIS THOUGHTS ON SOMETHING ARTISTIC IS contributing to a negative aspect of Hackettstown or anytown. If you disagree with me please write me so you can tell me how much better you are then me. i would love a laugh at your ignorance

Anonymous | i work for this so called wonderful town and i experience first hand how much the mayor brings or should i say does not bring to the community. he hasn't done a god damn thing but cause problems for this town, thank god he will be a one and done mayor. the thing that gets me the most is how the town counsil and the hackettstown bid association which i might add is a joke in it's self says that tattoo shops, check cashing company's and massage parlors bring a negative affect to the community, but you ride down main st. between liberty st. and church st. and all you see is immigrants and countless amounts of stores strictly for the asian and spanish community. what's even more of a disgrace is between high st. and moore st. where all you see are the spanish population loitering on the sidewalks making a mess of our streets, and believe me they do, i have to clean up after them. i just can not figure out how our WONDERFUL mayor and counsil can give an american owned buisness a bunch of problems when they never once had any type of compliant and has done nothing but brought business to main st. but they don't say one god damn thing about the immigrant population doing what they want when they want. what ever happened to taking care of your own before everyone else, this country is going to shit because of that.
vernon | tattooing is an art form and there is nothing negative about it and some of the people who elected this mayor i am sure have 1 or 2 tattoos besides i thought we lived in america a free country and not a dictatorship
andrea | I think that it's no ones business if people want a tattoo. How about getting the trash off the streets( the drugies). I moved away 8 years ago and everytime I come back the town is looking more like a city. Poor work around the town. I guess you can start calling it LITTLE DOVER. I THINK YOU SHOULD KEEP THE TATTOO PARLORS.
kayla cole | Why ban artwork? Is it because Mr. Lavery doesnt want to look at inked people. I absolutely adore everyone at first place, there amazing people and amazing artists. If the reason for this is to "clean up the streets" in hackettstown, try this. Try arresting the drug dealers who walk around town all hours of the night. Try to banish the people who stand out on stoops and try to pick up little girls. Keep these mom and pop shops like first place who established themselves on there own. First place is an artist shop. We are in a new age where all types of people like to and have a right to get pierced and tatooed. This is the only place i would EVER go. My opinion First place is the cleaness most experinced tatoo parlor in northern new jersey. I highly recommened it to EVERYONE!
kellee zimmer | i support first place they are great people.. They enhance the town..
michael mitelski | tattoo's are a work of art. some people just have no idea what a tattoo means. every one has its own meaning. hang in there guys.
| 1096 | Brian Casper | Mr. Holub is a fine example of a thriving small businessman, the likes of which Mayor Lavery and the town council should encourage to set up shop in their effort to revitalize Main St. Proposing to categorically ban types of business that a market demands shows a lack of consideration for basic economics. A more effective approach may be to provide incentives to attract the types of businesses that the council desires to locate downtown. A good place to start revitalization is through refurbishment of the surrounding streets and buildings, parking improvements, litter cleaning services, effective and friendly police patrol, etc. None of these efforts require the current approach; one which is little more than a complete affront to our American Heritage.
It is always easier to accomplish a goal when everyone is working together. In this example, Mayor Lavery has demonstrated no ability to play on the team. |
Kimberly Martin | There are not negative aspect to tatttoos or Tattoo Parlors. You don't ban Bars or Sports Areans that have people who are drunk and rowdy or are happy / mad because their sports team either won or lost and cause riots.
Jeremy Bryant | OK, What gives them the right?
Dan Nigra | What the heck is so negative about tattoos? It is the uneducation and misunderstanding of people that lead to beliefs like that.
shannon flaherty | Mike Rules!!!!!
