Stephanie Meyer | That is utterly ridiculous. If they had a record, or giant gang fights were happening I could understand, but it's a nice respectable tatoo shop. They've been here for 11 years without any incidents, he has every right to be here. I don't know who voted that idiot as Mayor, but he needs to be kicked out of office.
Jess Holloway |
Michelle Howell | Tattooing is a form of art. Does he plan on taking banning museums too.
Angela Bridygham |
Elizabeth Caamano | First Place is not some seedy place, it dose good business is a very good shop. I have gotten two of my three tattoo's there. People from neighboring town who have tattoo shops make special trips there because it is that good. Honestly, what is it doing to people? If you don't want a tattoo/piercing don't go there. Worried it’s corrupting people? Its called free will. It's out the way and not in anyones face. What dose it detract from the many nail salons, fast food joints, and antique shops?
Christina Smith | Tattoo parlors have every right to have their own buisness. This is rediculous.
Melissa |
Amanda King | I got my belly button pierced here when I turned 16...and not illegally, my FATHER took me. What people choose to do with their bodies is their choice, so don't be obnoxious and make them travel out of their home town to do it. Too far.
Julian Volyn |
Carrie | Leave tattoo parlors alone and focus real problems.
Michael Unangst |
Craig Alaburda |
Frank Hadley | Banning art will never be a solution in helping a town's image.
Joe | Why not the 24 hour fast food places and 7-11's as well. Might as well get rid of the gas stations and car dealerships and go back to horse and carrages.
Travis Dirkson | DO NOT SHUT FIRST PLACE DOWN THEY ARE THE ONLY LEGIT TATTOO PLACE IN THE AREA
Kevin | So he wants to close down the tattoo parlor so he can do what with house people who shouldnt be here?
Dorothy E. Higgins | I have a tattoo and I vote.

Hilary Kasman |
Jacqueline Koch |
David K Butt | I'm a working and well respected IT professional. And I also have multiple tattoos. This is by far the most ignorant and self supporting piece of legislation I have ever seen.

Anonymous | how are tattoos a negative aspect on any place unless it is a dirty scummy place that does terrible work.and i'm sorry, but i've been in first place, they are clean and they do beautiful work. not everyone in the world goes into a tattoo parlor to get skulls and crossbones to prove to the world how 'badass' they are. to be honest, most people get a tattoo that has a very special meaning for them that they wish the rest of the world to know as long as they live. whether it's to honor a loved one, show a passion, or just to be a beautiful work of art, none of which are a negative motivation at all. when the tattoo parlor that you got your first tattoo at closes down, a little piece of you dies with it. i know from first hand experience of my first parlor shutting down. and to honestly say that tattoo parlors in Hackettstown (or anywhere for that matter) are a negative aspect is a very closed minded statement, especially since this is targeting ONE and only one business. SAVE FIRST PLACE TATTOOS!!!

Anonymous | I got my one and only tattoo from First Place back in 2002. I am now a highly respected business woman in Central Jersey, and see no reasonable link between First Place and “negative images”. Well kept and sanitary, First Place is being portrayed as something other then it is so that those who are arrogant to the art of Tattoos will jump to conclusions without ever stepping into the parlor to judge for themselves. Perhaps it is time that we look at how loiterers and late night drunks effects the image of a town and stop placing blame on an art form that is becoming more approved of each year in society and an art form that allows its canvas to show their individuality.
Anastasia Regina Kydonieus | This is absurd, the establishment is extremely clean and hygienic, there is absolutely no reason for the Hackettstown officials to attempt to shut this place down.
Dana Zipkin | What's next, legislation that prohibits tattooed citizens from existing in Hackettstown? There are far bigger - and more pressing - issues to tackle, Mr. Lavery.
Kyle Feehan | Listen, you can't shut this place down. It's the only place I would trust puting something on my body that lasts a lifetime. The staff is friendly and talented. DON'T SHUT THEM DOWN!!!
