Our elected representatives are supposed to follow, obey and implement the People's will. If they are not sure what that will is, they should bother to find out what it is...as if they don't already.
The problem is that our government officials need to be constantly reminded as to what there only reason for being is...to legislate the People's will and oversee that it is carried out as legislated. Defending the Constitution and Bill of Rights is their sworn oath. Nothing is more important to Democracy than the right to Free Speech and Lawful Assembly. The internet is the epitome of public expression, assembly and awareness. Any attempt by a government that is unresponsive to the People's will is treason and will not be tolerated. It is up to the People to choose that which they wish to see and use on the internet...not government or their corporate sponsors. Government in a Democracy is not for sale at any price. Any attempt to divert this freedom from the People to corporate
control or government restriction will be viewed as High Treason. The CIA, NSA, FBI, SHAPE or any other shadowy extension of the fascist plutocrats who run the New World Order have no business interdicting the will of the People. It will not be tolerated! People need not fear their government in a Democracy. Government needs to fear the People and their will to be free. |

Many of my friends live too far away, and It costs me more money than I have to keep calling them all the time, so It's much easier to talk to them via these sites. Banning them would be effectively stopping me from contacting the few friends I have. |

Ted Stevens hardly knows what the internet is, not to mention he seems to think that netflix is a movie download service which uses "vast amounts of bandwidth", when in fact it basically only sends a tiny message that says "Hey, send me this with UPS". Also, he seems to have the mysterious belief that he internet, by some sort of magic, grows child molesters. This bill is just one step closer to removing free speech from the internet. Pass it, and you're abridging the first amendment. |
