AnonymousPA04Our freedoms are fast being stripped away. Never before have people been so mistrusted that they can't even make their own decisions on what to read or who to contact. We are losing control, and it frightens the hell out of me.

AnonymousFL01i think banning the myspace community and other chat rooms is really unfair. i enjoy using myspace, its a way that i keep in contact with friends and family, its a way that i can express myself online. we as americans have our rights to have blogs. Now because there are online predetors out there, it doesnt mean we should ban everything and hide away from the world. no matter what there is always going to be bad people online, we should wisen up and change the way we use myspace and other online chat sites becasue banning things is not the answer.

stephenTX04I can understand the want, and the need to eliminate sexual predators. Why does it come at the cost of everyone else medium for conversation and expression. I have been deployed for almost 11 months and myspace is the way I communicate with my family.

AnonymousMO05I feel that websites like myspace are a good site. Some responsiblility falls back on the parents. Children can learn good ethics from these web sites. They need to be taught how to use such sites. Myspace is a great website. I use myspace to advertise my poetry.

BrianMO05The administrators at MySpace.com dumped my account in violation of the law AND my First Amendment freedom of speech rights on the afternoon of Wednesday 1 November and now they won't allow me to create a new account! I was innocently using the services of the site, innocently networking and making new friends, when suddenly I found myself facing the following message: Invalid ID, The member has closed their account, or the profile has been deleted, and then I discovered an email from MySpace telling me that my account had been deleted for a "violation of Terms of Service". I'M GOING TO DISPROVE THEIR LAUNDRY LIST OF FALSEHOODS RIGHT NOW: "Your MySpace account has been deleted for violating our Terms of Service. " So-called "violations" which they did not specify, but just gave their usual laundry list of false reasons. "This is usually due to one of the following: * Nude images, sexually suggestive or violent photos" Of which I had NONE OF. "* Covering our banner ads with HTML" I wouldn't know how to do that so that's out of the question "* Harassing other users" Impossible. I may have rebutted a liberal here and there but in the end it's my GOD-GIVEN right backed by the United States Constitution to rebut any lies uttered by the Left. "* You do not meet the minimum age requirement " I'm 35 so that obliterates that reason. "* Spamming the classifieds, forums, bulletins, or other sections of the site " I NEVER did any of that; I simply USED the FEATURES of the site in protected free speech. "* Attempting to artificially inflate scores" I don't know how to do that! "* Scripting the site" I don't know how to do that either! "Your account cannot be restored. If you choose to return to MySpace, please follow the rules. " WHAT!? I PLAYED BY THEIR RULES AND THEY STILL DUMPED MY ACCOUNT, IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW! This is all the more reason News Corporation MUST terminate the administrator who illegally dumped my profile with almost 900 friends, for the SECOND TIME in one month, and all the more reason MySpace.com MUST be prosecuted for fraud and for civil rights violations! Additionally I keep trying to get MySpace Customer Service to unsubscribe me to blog post subcription notices for this particular account but they refuse to do as they are told, thus interfering with my right to network in peace AND my freedom of speech AND my ability to create a new account on MySpace.com; instead they keep sending me the same form letter email telling me what to do with my browser settings: "Hello, If you can’t create an account, we recommend deleting your browser's cookies and temporary internet files and then close all your browsers and try signing up again. (Note: Mac users should use Safari or Firefox.) Make sure you didn’t add any spaces at the end of your email address or verification code. If someone is using your email address please send us an email from that email address to verify you are the legal owner and we will be able to delete that fake profile. If you are shown an error message when attempting to create an account, please copy and paste it into the body of your reply email. If this does not answer your question, please click: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=misc.contact Thank you, MySpace.com ============== This message has been auto-sent no fewer than five times in the past three days. I am FED UP WITH THEIR LYING, THEIR FRAUD, THEIR INATTENTION, AND THEIR ABSOLUTE INTOLERANCE, NOT TO MENTION THEIR BLATANT DISRESPECT OF AND INTERFERENCE WITH MY RIGHT TO DISPLAY WHAT I WANT TO DISPLAY ON MY PROFILE! IT'S CALLED FREEDOM OF SPEECH, AND MYSPACE AND NEWSCORP WILL BOTH LEARN TO RESPECT MINE! When I try to call MySpace.com headquarters I keep getting directed to voicemail, and NOBODY EVER RESPONDS TO THE PROBLEM! So what I have done is I have started a report to the News Corporation Workplace Alert Program, I have reported this to the Santa Monica Police Department (regarding fraud on the part of MySpace), the FBI, the California Attorney General's Office, and also I have already contacted numerous media outlets. So far I have received autoreplies from John Kasich at Fox News, two from Channel NewsAsia including one from Yeo Hock Lin, Front Page Magazine, NBC Nightly News, and The Today Show. My hope is that one of those outlets will pick up the ball and run with it and expose the frauds that make MySpace a nightmare for those who choose to stand up for their beliefs and innocently exercise their freedom of speech and their freedom to network in peace. And it shouldn't take some crybaby with a partisan axe to grind spewing some lying liberal sayso to get someone dumped from MySpace or any other network like that. I am at the point where I am about to file legal action against MySpace to get them to fix the problem so I can open another account. I have also notified one of the executives at NewsCorp via email and I may even go as far as to write a letter to MySpace, Fox Interactive, AND NewsCorp officials to get them to act upon this problem by making the technicians fix the bug, firing the administrator who dumped me from their site and infringed upon my freedom of speech, and start treating me with respect! I have had ENOUGH of their rubbish! I am planning upon drafting a Social Networking Bill Of Rights and I may even see about getting politicians to make such a bill of rights the law of the land. It has come to my understanding that Brad Greenspan---the founder of MySpace.com---has filed a lawsuit against them already. They do NOT want to face TWO simultaneous lawsuits...and I may decide after bankrupting MySpace.com that I will shut down their site permanently and immediately, bulldoze their headquarters, and turn them into a housing estate. AND I will definitely buy out ALL foreign investment of Fox News and make sure the coverage goes FAR to the right, PLUS I will ensure that real conservative commentators like Michael Savage AND Neal Boortz have REGULAR NIGHTLY SHOWS on Fox News Channel. MySpace AND NewsCorp definitely MUST take action to correct the problems and injustices I have experienced at MySpace.com if they want to avoid a devastating lawsuit. And BTW I have sent the same letter to NewsCorp Human Relations Executive Vice President Ian Moore and to Chairman and Chief Exeuctive K Rupert Murdoch that I have sent to MySpace Customer Service.
AnonymousCA04Freedom of speech babay!!!
AnonymousCA05Freedom of the press belongs to those who own one. Social networks are the press of the people -- the ultimate in democratic voice. We created this network for social gain. Let's make sure to monitor the community ourselves to keep predators and wierdos out of it. We can't afford to let a few bad apples spoil the entire Internet. We have the desire, the power and the organizational skills to keep our social networks safe -- we don't need the government to intervene.
AnonymousCA07it seems to me that egroups and elists like yahoo and others run would also be impacted, because there is often some option to allow info about yourself. but i have often used this info to determine what sort of person i am talking to and be more careful. looking for inconsistencies, or a lack of information altogether. Normally I don't use myspace, but i think a lot of networking that young people do not use and that does not allow sexual content but is important for business and research and social reasons, would be affected. i am not too happy about myspace, but i am not too happy about taking a reaction too far. predators were using the internet before myspace existed.
KeefCA05Stop the "crazies" from cutting into our free speech.
AnonymousCA07one more attempt by the republican pervert party to suppress freedom, maybe we can ask the army to bring a little taste of democracy back to America by putting these rich scumbags and killers behind bars for their destruction of the Constitution, yes that would be ricebag, cheney the drunk, cokehead george and his world trade center security chief brother marv

AnonymousVA04Parents should block pages on the computer that they don't want their child to see. If parents did their job now-a-days, we wouldn't have as many problems.

jonathanCA02blocking myspace because of sexual predators is akin to blocking google because of porn. both are useful, yet both can be abused.
NoveedCA02There is absolutely no reason why Congress should limit the rights of internet users -- internet predators access this stuff FROM PRIVATE NETWORKS, not from a public library! It only serves to infringe people's right to use the internet in public places.

JustinGA01This has already been banned at my school, and I do understand why they do it- but I really think that if someone is done with work completely, and they have none left to do, they should get the chance to go on their myspace.

CynthiaNY05Freedom of Speech. Uphold it. Thank you for keeping internet streams, blogs, chat rooms, conferences, gatherings, etc. freely flowing within our schools and all other institutions. Oh, thanks also for making internet access freely accessible to all. The collective consciousness is unstoppable... the meek shall inherit the earth...

AnonymousOK08Leave the Internet alone. Its fine the way it is. It was designed for free access, not limited access.

JohnAZ04I Hate Myspace.
brandiMD01people need to set their profiles as private on myspace and not put out information and only add people as friends that they know!!!!!!!!!!
AnonymousMD02WTF? If they get rid of MySpace, Xanga, or Darkstarlings or anything like it. Most peoples communications between friends. I commmunicate between my old friends in other states. I found my ex girlfriend, which i still love, the olnly resaon we broke it off was because I had to move to a different state. If MySpace wasn't around, I wouldn't of found her.
PattyKY05Parents should monitor their kids a lil better these days...BUT they don't, they just turn them loose and let them run rampant! Don't blame these sites, blame the parents for not teaching their children right from wrong! It's our right as an American to express ourselves and this will put a halt to it.
ARRONTN02I LOVE MYSPACE AND ITS THE ONLY WAY I CAN KEEP IN CONTACT WITH MY FRIENDS FROM MY OLD SKOOLA ND MY OLD TOWN! PLUS ITS THE ONLY THING 2 DO AROUND HERE IN THIS LITLE OL TOWN!
