AnonymousFL03you can't stop people from lying on the computer to circumvent age restrictions. new laws won't stop people from breaking old ones. government and internet must remain separate.
CandaceVA04Why should the federal government bear a parent's responsibility for teaching and guiding their children? In addition, how are banning users from accessing social-networking sites at public schools and libraries going to decrease the risks of interacting with people online? The Internet is open 24 hours a day. Couldn't have said it better myself.

JamieMD06Predators are everywhere. We would also have to eliminate shopping malls, restaurants, college campuses, and basically the whole world. Don't shut down a tool because some people use it for nefarious means.

MichelleNY04I am a Teen Services Librarian and I think it is a terrible terrible idea to ban MySpace from libraries. Teens come in every day and spend hours on MySpace. They are learning web design and are taking pride in self-expression. Parents and educators need to be sure kids know about the risks of online social networks, but BANNING IS NEVER THE ANSWER!

LarryKY03this bill is rediculous. TEH SCARY INTERWEB!!! doesnt force you to put personal information up, you do.
AnonymousPA01You can't take away our rights!

JoshuaVA04Parents are the ones that need to stop these kids from getting in trouble not the goverment. Its like taking out a sledge hammer to swat a fly.
GeorgeNY03Those who are willing to trade freedom for safety deserve neither one nor the other. Basically, freedom is not to be violated.
cameronNC02its not right and it is MY rights there jacking with. i use my right to freedom of speech all the time.

AnonymousWA01This is an infringment on the First Amendment.

StephenNY03You people need to give up. Myspace lives!
VictoriaMD03This is stupid.. instead of spending time limiting people from joining myspace.. put more time and effort into teaching children who aren't old enough that they SHOULD NOT be talking to those they don't know online.. AND ESPECIALLY MAKING PLANS TO SEE THEM.. make parents moniter more closely.. this starts in the home, not online..
JulianMN02This is the most fucked up law

SaraIL01Myspace is a wonderful site for people to talk to their friends and express their personality with the originality and creativity of their page.

TeresaVA05yea i think its a shame when we cant even ahve a free site to look up old friends from school and people t talk to! Yahoo does the same thing it allows anyone on their site. whats the difference between this and that NONE!!!!!! This country is changing more and more everyday we are not really free anymore they are trtying to tell us what we can do and where and when ek: smoking no smoking outside! come on now outside is foreveryone and i think they should stop and think about what kind of laws they make because it seems to me every new law that they make thats away more of our rights! YOU SUCK PRESIDENT BUSH!!!! AND BRING OUR GUYS HOME TOO!

AnonymousMT03FUCK THE GOV. LET US BE.
WilliamMN01The government shouldn't be able to tell us how we should talk to other people! If they're planning on banning Myspace they might as well try banning every other known form of communication over the internet. They'll probably try that too.
WinkyKY05I would like to suggest banning anyone under 21 from using MySpace, and further that adding songs, animated GIF's, and other "flair" to your page becomes a crime punishable by death.
AnonymousIL08This bill is just another way for this guy to get some attention for his re-election.
AnonymousCA03
MichaelNY07I am signing this because I am so offended by the notion of a free speech zone as instituted by this administration. America is a free speech zone. Let's keep it that way.

KylieOR04I have been with Myspace for almost 3 years now, and any time some pervert contacted me, I IGNORED HIM!!!! I'm sorry but anyone, any age who is SOOOOOOOOOOO unbelieveably STUPID enough to keep talking about sex with an old ass person is RETARED. And giving out your phone # and home address to them??? RETARDED!! People need to raise their kids not to be fucking stupid and retarded enough to do that, and I'm sorry but if someone's kid is that fucking stupid, then its the parents own damn fault. Pull your heads outta your ass people.
chasityTN04Freedom of speech is part of the civil liberties we share and makes us American. If this starts with infringing on our rights, why don't we just go ahead and rewrite the Constitution?
AnonymousMD04Restricting freedom of speech on the Internet is not the right way to deal with online predators!
timothyNY02i think it should be 16-w/e the age is but ppl over the age of 25 cant see 16 and 17 year old profiles ........ only 16 and 17 yr olds can see all prfiles to add like ... thire teacher or work employee .... thats just me
chaseAL02myspace lives!

AnonymousAZ02This is bull, this is freedom of speach and expression...
AnonymousFL02Why take away myspace? Why not crack down on sexual predators and lock them up for more than 5 years so where they can get out again? Does this mean they'll shut down aol, facebook, xanga, livejournal, and everything else too? Why choose myspace?
