257 Charles H NadlerIf Israel is serious about making peace and securing the safety of its citizens, it cannot pick and choose who to talk with. No Israeli labor union or employer would countenance the other side choosing the leaders of their own side. I say this as a Jewish American!US80202

262 Pedro DanelliNo-one has the right to waste the life of a child The violence of the last few days between Palestinians and Israelis has led to the deaths of tens of people, mostly innocent civilians, including children and even babies. All violence should be condemned. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been going on for decades. Is there no solution to it? Is it a conflict about territory? Is it a conflict about religion? Or about both? We have friends among Israelis and among Palestinians. They all want peace so they can live a happy life with their families and friends. As in many conflicts, it is probably a tiny minority wanting to go on fighting and killing, while the majority wants to live in peace. Why can Palestinians and Israelis not find common ground to build a future on for both peoples? A future where not a single innocent child, man or woman is killed in an armed conflict. "Peace will never be possible", was the comment of one of our contacts. We wonder why. Is it also why the UN has not sent in any peacekeeping forces? Europe was torn by deadly wars for centuries until in the 1950s some countries decided that is had been enough and that together they could build a community that benefited all. Why can the Palestinian and the Israeli leaders not take (more) lessons from the co-operative process in Europe? Peace is possible, but there has got to be a willingness to go for it through constructive dialogue with openness and tolerance. No-one can ever have it all. Life is made up of giving and taking. When both sides feel they benefit, peace is possible.

267 Isabelle JauberteauI support strongly a ceasefire between Hamas and Israeli government in Gaza and also the actions of Israeli for peace. Negociations are the only mean to bring the peace. People suffers since too long time in Gaza. How people cannot become extremist in such a situation ?FR
