201 Edwin DanielCrimes against humanity, such as those being committed by Israel in Gaza cannot go unpunished forever. It is time for the US and the World Court to act. No member of the Israeli government should feel safe to set his/her foot on the soil of a nation where they can be prosecuted.CAT5K 0K5

220 A. HumeIf Israel truly wants peace, it would treat the Palestinians, wherever they are located as real human beings with full human rights. Imagine how Israel and those unquestioningly supporting the actions of the Israeli government would react if another nation treated it as it treats the Palestinians (walling it in, bombing its power plants, denying it water, much less clean potable water, putting it under siege and prohibiting any movement in or out and very few goods in or out, denying ill patients access to the hospital and bombing, bulldozing and otherwise wantonly destroying people's homes and lives). As the Israeli newspaper Haaretz's editorial board wrote on Feb. 8, "The short hiatus, 11 days, in the heavy Qassam strikes against the northern Negev was not coincidental. During those days the Rafah crossing was open. The Palestinians during those few days of relative liberty had something to lose." The only way to achieve peace AND real security is to make friends with your enemy and treat them as you want them to treat you.US

243 June Forsyth KenagyI am a born-again Christian, believe Jesus wasn't kidding when he said, "Love your enemies," and also that command is the most powerful weapon on earth to achieve peace. What Israel is doing is terribly wrong, over-reactive, and disproportionate. Palestinians are shooting themselves in the foot by continuing the rocket fire, however. Non-violent resistance would completely leave Israel with no excuse for their disgusting violence; the world would see who really is the "victim" here. It breaks my heart to see Palestinian children killed and maimed for life when they are only playing soccer. When Israel uses such huge weapons with a wide circle of damage, they ARE deliberately targeting civilians just like Hamas. They are the moral equivalent of Hamas; they are no better, and they do not deserve ALL the human rights in the area. Two peoples live in the land: each should have EQUAL human rights.US97322

246 Valori GeorgeThe cruelty and insanity that is happening now in Gaza does not benefit anyone. Israel must stop its attacks on the civilian population of Gaza before anything can shift. And we must all find ways to support the peacemakers on both sides. They are the only hope.US97333
247 Susan ShawlPlease start talking to each other and stop the fighting. No one is going to "win" this fight, so the solution is to talk and negotiate. Bless you all. Susan ShawlUS94618

249 Harry Berbrayer and Rosemary DarvilleIsrael is apparently determined to subjugate, expel, or kill all Palestinians in the territories Israel wishes to control. Currently, it is collectively tormenting the people of Gaza, while claiming that its actions are "defensive" and justified by the rocket fire from the Gaza Strip. And for the most part, the rest of the world does nothing to help bring an end to this terrible violence and suffering. We commend those courageous Israelis, Palestinians, and others of various nationalities who consistently intervene to promote justice, provide emergency assistance, and work for real and sustainable peace. However, the governments of the U.S. and Canada continue to support Israel's most extreme actions and grant it impunity.CAV9L 5X3
