3 Lincoln ShlenskyI am a US-born Jew, living in Canada, and I support an end to the blockade of Gaza, a ceasefire by all parties, and greater care for the lives and welfare of civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories and Israel.CAV8S
4 Michael J. ZigmondI also urge the US government to apply its considerable influence on both sides to end the use of violence as a "solution" to violence, an approach that has long since proven bankrupt. And, whereas this petition is signed in the name of Muslims, Christians, and Jews, I am certain that there are millions of others -- including Buddhists, Sikhs, Hindu, Bahai, and the unaffiliated -- who support it, as well!US15217

9 Theresa MasonHow many years of doing the same thing will it take for people to realize that what they are doing does not work? On the most practical (not to mention moral) level a new approach must be tired. I suggest that we take the experience of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission as a model for changing the situation in Israel/Palestine. We can no longer afford to live in a world of "us" and "them"; in death we are all truly equal and all truly gone. A policy of Generosity, Cooperation and Truth will afford both people's the opportunity to live out their spiritual beliefs and provide another paradigm which can lead toward the peace all so urgently seek.US15085

16 Edith BellAs a Jew and a Holocaust survivor I am hurting to see the violence in Gaza, the victimization of innocent civilians. I do not buy Israel's contention that the Palestinian civilians are accidental not intended deaths. They are still dead. The Israeli "response" is totally out of proportion.US15206

22 Anne RobbThe current violence in Gaza seems to be a direct result of Israel's desire to avoid negotiation in order to continue supporting and building settlements. Only the international community can along with a U.S. government with the backbone to oppose Israel and demands talks with Hamas will ever be able to curb the violence.US15217
23 frank and carol happfor centuries Jewish people have suffered persecution. I believe that there has to be many in Israel that see that what is happening must stop. My prayer is that soon more voices will be heard for peace in gaza.US15015

41 Wilma and Earl JonesI am so tired of the constant news relating to our presidential candidates stand on their support of Israel. In my opinion, much of the conflict in the Middle East relates to the U.S. and their undivided support of Israel militarily and economically with little attention to what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank , which is beyond "our stand for democracy, equality, and humanitarian care which we so proudly proclaim to the rest of the world !!!!" This blindness has been going on for decades!!!US28690
