The petition

We the undersigned OPPOSE the Allegheny Power (Trans-Allegheny Interstate Line Company) proposal to build high voltage transmission lines through our Communities. These lines are being constructed to supply power beyond the borders of our state.
We believe it is a serious abuse of the States power to use EMINENT DOMAIN to take our land to build a "for profit" power line that will mutilate our landscape without providing any benefit to our Communities.
Our opposition is based on the negative impact to our quality of life that includes: safety risks, health concerns, environmental damage, deterioration of property values, and higher electrical costs.
