| 59 | Robin Smith | Too many Cherokee people are living in 3rd world conditions such as no running water, electricity and having to use outhouses. This is appalling from a Tribe making millions a year on Casino profits. CNO leader Chad Smith and his top executives have been getting rich while the Cherokee people are getting poorer. Chief Chad Smith uses the Cherokee people as a labor pool having them put in water lines, paving roads, etc and pays them nothing even when grant money is recieved to get this completed. Chad Smith vetoed money for a swimming pool for the Boys and Girls club even though the Council approved and set aside money for this project,. Our people are not recieving proper health care some are on waiting lists for months to recieve treatment for cancer or diabetes. There are just too many poor and hungry Elders and children from a Tribe making milliions on Casinos and help needs to come soon. |

| 62 | Sarah Kirkendoll | I support Diane Watson bill HR24-28 as a human rights issue. My tax dollars SHOULD NOT SUPPORT any organization that discriminates against my fellow freedman brothers and sisters. My children are freedman decendants and I certainally would not want them to be discrimated against. This is a race issue if there was ever one. The election (June 23rd) was a fixe one for the chief as my son received two ballots and I wonder how many others received more than one, and as some others in my family, never received not one ballot. This action Chad Smith has taken has nothing to do the Cherokee Peoples Sovereign Rights. If this bill is not passed I hope all Freedman received a HUGE TAX REFUND from the United States Goverment |
| 63 | Anonymous | The loss of federal funds would be a hard blow, but to continue the insane method Chad has created would be a harder blow. I am convinced the only way to improve the Cherokee situtation will take an act of Congress. It's not only the CNO that is abusing soveriegn rights and powers, other tribes are as well and that has got to stop. The Indian govts that are the abusers are hurting ALL Indian tribes and if this continues, ALL will suffer, even the good tribes. |

| 65 | Anonymous | I am a Choctaw freedmen descendant. Although my family had to move on out from their native country--this does not mean that it is forgotten.
If we forget, then it's gone forever. No footprints left to lead us back. |
| 66 | Midge Lamb | I am Cherokee and want full rights for us and the freedmen, Delaware and Shawnees. |
| 67 | verdie triplett | I,the founder of the choctaw chickasaw freedmen association is in full support of the congresswoman's bill hr2824.It was my organization that sent the letter and petition to the congressional black caucus to get this bill introduced.I have documention on the chickasaw freedmen card linking me to a choctaw indian by blood and was still denied citizenship, because of racism. I would love to come to washington and tell my story to congress revealing the racist tactics these five slaving holding tribes practice. |

| 96 | Anonymous | I I ask for you to support US House Bill 2824, a bill which encourages Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma to uphold the treaty rights of the Cherokee freedmen, a minority of the Cherokee nation who were guaranteed citizenship both by the tribe and th US government treaty made in 1866. The bill will remove federal funding from the tribe until the tribal government follows the law.
I ask for your support in changing the tide of expulsion in Indian Tribes through the US. I want a stronger Indian Civil Right Act, and I want fair elections that can be overseen and proven valid votes in our tribal elections.
The date to day is July 30, 2007 and now questions are being asked, The tribal employees are asking what happens to our jobs.now that funding is being withheld? ......I relpy, you should have considered that when you chose to expel your bothers and sisters and you chose Chad Smith as your leader. |

| 100 | Billie Nave Masters | I support the closing of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma as recognized as the historical Cherokee Nation and the recognition of the United Cherokee Nation as the true Cherokee Nation based on the 1839, and the 1866 treaty with the United States, ratified by Congress; whereas the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) was recently formed by executive order in 1949, in 1976 a constitution from CNO was accepted by the BIA. As a registered Cherokee, I am requesting the United Cherokee Nation, under Chief Robin Mayes be recognized as the official Cherokee Nation. |
