| 207 | Anonymous | I really hope that it is not a reality that horses possibly will lose out on the privilege to ride at the new Staunton Park. Equestrians are losing more and more space for riding and I think that is a shame. Horses live with people and people need to exercise them. Horses were not meant to be cooped up in a corral their whole lives with little to no exercise and no place to ride them. We can’t keep pushing animals out of our lives. Would we ask people not to bring their dogs to the parks or open space? Horses are just as much a part of the family as a dog is or someone’s child. I think all hobbies should be respected and allow people the freedom to ride. For some of us, it’s the only thing we look forward to and escape the mundane existence of going to work everyday and the hustle and bustle of the world. |

| 213 | Linda Gaber | Please do not close horse riders out of their own neighborhoods. With gas prices, we are at a definite disadvantage, with many paved roads and area parks already not suitable for horses. Why would horse riders be penalized while bicyclists, joggers, walkers, dog walkers and other nature lovers are not? Please help us keep the parks WE ALL PAY for open to ALL OF US. THanks, LG |

| 215 | Shelley Ferraro | Keep the trails open. |
| 216 | Paul and Tonya Bauer | Please keep the trails open to horses; it's one of the very best ways to see Colorado outdoors! |
| 217 | Anonymous | I have heard the trials local horse owners must endure fighting for high-quality trails that are not beaten down by mountain bike riders, which is painful on the horses' hooves and joints. I support this measure. |
| 218 | Sherri Libby | Let's not lose the right to ride in any area where horses have always been used to clear trails for all of the general public including the bike riders. |
| 219 | Sandy Young | If Americans truly respect the horse and want to keep it from being a slaughter animal or unwanted, then there needs to be opportunities for it to have a purpose and a place in our society. Please establish and keep trails open for horse use! |
| 220 | Kristie D'Amico | Horses are part of this area's culture. Keep it open to horses, please. |

| 222 | Kathleen Arnold | Horses have been in the back country since this land was discovered.Mountain bikes instead of horses?Who thinks that is fair?Horses need to be part of the entire new park. |

| 234 | nancy kanenwisher | horses should be able to use the park too. There should be plenty of parking for trailers big and small. |
| 235 | Michael C. Schaefer | What is the possible 'logic' for even entertaining the ides of no horses in OUR State Park ?!? |
| 236 | Bill Sparkman | I'm reminded of an old man in the vacinity of this area. It's been 20 years since an article was written about him and his horse, riding to town once a week, tying his horse to a post, and doing his weekly shopping. The "little" town, and you know which one it is, was astonished, and after the normal bickering, the article was written. The people supported the old man.
Now, Here We Go Again.
My thoughts are reflected in the statement of that old man equestrian 20 years ago, "They can progress as fast as they want to, but just leave me alone".
May I suggest at this time, that Colorado, and America, need to preserve areas, where simplicity of life can be preserved.
I am signing the petition in hopes that equestrian peacefulness remains alive in Colorado as an example to everyone, that progress, although necessary in developed communities; should be preserved in as many areas as possible, specifically in Staunton State Park, where horsemanship should continue forever.
