| 151 | mary anne morrison | The historic use of horses on trails is integral to Colorado's past and present!! Please preserve equestrian use of Staunton State park |
| 152 | Adolph Otterstein | |
| 153 | Amber Olmsted | Horses are a native part of AMerica, please continue to allow them to use public lands. |

| 155 | Susan Luthy | I hope it's not too late for my signature on this petition. It is a grave situation that equestrians are facing in Colorado with the reduction of horse trails in favor of mountain bikers and ATV'ers. Hopefully, this beautiful park in the heart of several horse communities will be an exception. I |
| 156 | Peggy Farnham | Those of us who have grown up in this area, have had horses all our lives. We are losing all our riding trails, and are quickly running out of safe, quiet peaceful places in which to enjoy our horses and nature. Please keep these trails available and open for equestrian pursuits. Full use pursuits, such as fire pits, etc. endanger the land, wildlife, and surrounding neighborhoods. The fire danger alone should put the use of fire pits out of consideration in this area. People who come to use these areas can not be counted upon to make sure their fires are out, trash packed out, etc. The fire danger is high enough in this area without asking for trouble by having open fire pits available to people unfamiliar with the area and how to properly protect the area. |
| 157 | TL | Equestrian use in Staunton is needed by the horse owners of our state, please don't shut us out.
No camping should be allowed though, there is too much fire danger and the National Forest that borders Staunton already allows camping with little risk to surrounding homes.
Thanks for listening. |

| 163 | Leigh Meigs | We have used state and national parks for family activities including hiking and camping, and more recently, horseback-riding. When the kids were little, there was no greater sight than a group of horseback riders--it was just the way we picture the west, and we enjoyed these friendly outdoorspeople.
Horses offer a superb life experience and ecologically sensitive use of our backcountry when horsemen are well-educated. That is why we are members of Backcountry Horsemen. We care about horses and we care about the backcountry. The answer to concerns about horses in the backcountry is to educated people how to share the trails and how all users can care for the country we all enjoy.
Don't kick out the first recreationalists in the west--the horsemen and women. |

| 168 | Lynne Andrade | It is too bad that this type of action continues to occupy all of our time. Public lands should be open to public uses including equestrian use. We are all taxpayers and deserve representation. |

| 174 | Mary Bendelow | What better use can there be of the park and its trails than to include horses and their riders. We contribute to the beauty and the naturalness of the scenery, more so than any other non-pedestrian group. We are there to enjoy nature, not "conquer" it. Horses belong on the trails. |

| 181 | Linda Morrison | trails should be multiuse, for ALL user groups!!! |
| 182 | April Esparza | |
| 183 | Natalie Hawkins | Trails are for everyone to enjoy! We all pay taxes to maintain these trails, those who ride horses should be able to use them just as freely as the rest. Thank You. |
| 184 | Kate Feldman | Dear decision makers,
Please remember, Bicycles are much more hazardous and damaging to fragile ecosystems than horses.
Let's share the trails. We have done it for years and it works just fine when everyone takes care of everyone else! |
| 185 | Steve Kramer | i think horses have a right. Just remember that horses were used to settle our fantastic area. |
| 186 | Mary Dennison | |

| 188 | Don Herr | There is absolutely no reason to deny horseback riding at this park. The park would be a great asset to horseback riders in the area and since it is a new park, several riders from surrounding areas would come to enjoy it as well.
Horseback riding is a very popular outdoor activity in the mountains. This park would provide access to various other National Forest trails. The State Parks should be available to all State residents not just a few. I hope the Committee making decisions on Park use will recognize the need to allow horseback riding and access..
Thank you. |

| 190 | Pat Humble | I feel that horses should have access to all trails in state parks and also the back country. Horses were here before most people and all motorized vec. |

| 193 | Stacey Rowland | I am so excited about this park and very much look forward to the new trails and sharing these trails with other users. Will trailer parking be considered in the planning of this park? |
| 194 | Tanya Buck | Please allow equestrian access to Staunton State Park. We want the park space protected to have minimal effect on the land, wildlife and surrounding neighborhoods.
Equestrians are quickly running out of safe, quiet trails on which to enjoy our 4-footed friends.
Thank you. |

Thank you. |
| 196 | Ingrid Spikker | Adequate trailer parking too please |
| 197 | Mike Fraser | |
| 198 | Juanita Frost | |
| 199 | K'lyn Keller | Please also provide adequate trailer parking and more than 4 miles of trails. Thank you! I love the trailriding opportunities in our state's parks and appreciate when we and our horses are considered in the land use. |
| 200 | Linda Blemler | I do not own a horse but I do not want horses banned from Staunton State Park. Please let them share the trails |
