New postal size and weight restrictions, necessitate advice for stamp purchasing, further compromising the long queues at the Station Road West Post Office. |
| 6 | deborah richardson | I have known Oxted all my life - went to school there and now work there. I use this Post Office regularly because it provides more convenience than my local one at home. It is invaluable to the town and I know that many older people living nearby would struggle to walk to the other one in Station Road West. Of course it is a luxury nowadays to have 2 POffices in the town but why does everything have to be downgraded to the lowest common denominatore everywhere. We are abandoing anything good that works in this country and it must STOP or we will have nothing left at all. |

There are already long queues the majority of the time at BOTH post offices, no matter what time of day nor day of the week, despite all counters being manned. To close this post office in Station Road East would have an enormous impact on the whole community. I would urge Post Office Ltd to rethink their policy of these closures as the Post Office is a lifeline in ALL communities. |

Queing is normal at the other post office and I do not think additional facilities will be provided. |

| 26 | Bryan Routledge | This long established Office serves the eastern end of the town providing facilities for local residents and commercial ventures. The Office in Station Road West serves the western part of the locality but there are frequently fairly long queues at this address, thus the potential closure of the other Office is a highly retrograde proposal which would cause substantial difficulties.
In any event I find it hard to believe that the current two Offices are deemed unprofitable. |

| 28 | Malcolm Page | I always use the Post Office in Station Road East. In my experience of 20 years living in Oxted the Post Office in Station Road West invariably involves waiting in a long queue. One often finds only one till in operation at Station Road West. If Station Road East is to close then at least 4 till positions would be required at Station Road West.and no less than 3 manned at all times. |

Station Road East is by far the busiest side of the town for shopping and has become even busier with the advent of three new coffee shops and Sainsbury Local. It is also very convenient and that is what a post office should be. Station Road West always has a queue and the staff are less competent. In contrast, Station Road East is efficient and friendly. Oxted is busy enough for both post offices to remain open. Let us hope the consultation period is not merely paying lip service to the residents of Oxted. Just for once listen to our opinions and furthermore take note of them. |

The majority of shops are on this side of the town. The other post office situated in Station Road West will, I feel, be unable to cope with the increase in customers should the Station Road East Post Office be closed. Also, it will mean a long up-hill walk for those who are elderly, disabled or not so fit. |

It seems plain crazy to close a PO which is always busy and completely overloading the Stn. Road West PO!!
Limpsfield PO is too far away for the elderley. |
