The petition
We are petitioning today for the rights of all people to be treated fairly and with respect.
Recently, the Spanish Olympic Basketball teams took photos wherein they made poses which represent visual racial slurs against Asians. They have still not formally apologized for their actions, claiming ignorance that they did anything wrong. We as people dedicated to cultural understanding and to the equal and fair treatment of all people across the world and in the spirit with which the Olympic games and sport in general are meant to be conducted, hereby petition that Spain issues a formal apology on behalf of their basketball teams (both male and female) for their insensitive, offensive, and demeaning actions as photographed and displayed below:

Members of the Spanish teams, please realize that this type of behavior only perpetuates misunderstanding and confusion between cultures and peoples and must be stopped. It is important to be able to acknowledge ones mistake and learn from it. The understanding can begin here.
