To Our Chosen Candidate Barack Obama,
We your supporters in your campaign for President of the United States of America urge you to develop a robust space policy.
This policy must allow for continued exploration of space, both manned and unmanned. In addition the policy should encourage the development of space, through entrepreneurialism and commercial activities.
Providing for our national security, while encouraging peaceful cooperation of other nations should also be a consideration of the policy. Finally a comprehensive space policy can help address the climate crisis through global monitoring and using space based resources. Considering the vital role aerospace products and systems have played in the development of our telecommunication and weather forecasting systems and other types of global monitoring we should not lose sight of the role it can play in solving current global crises and unforeseen ones.
We your supporters believe that investing in space exploration will drive our economy, improve our technology and our way of life. Many of us who either have a technical background or just have a love for space exploration have dreamed for our whole lives of mankind reaching Mars and traveling beyond our solar system. And we share these dreams with our children who also look to the stars and imagine what is out there. We have also imagined that our nation would be leading the way.
