| 51 | Anna Waller | With the schools in this area, we should be trying to encourage safe pedestrian and bicycle traffic, not making it more difficult. Sidewalks and bike lanes are great but not much help CROSSING a 5-6 lane road. Please keep Smith Level the rural access road that it is by not adding additional traffic lanes. |
| 52 | Sarah Kahn | As a frequent biker/pedestrian/bus rider on Smith Level Rd., I think this idea would make my life more difficult and dangerous. It's ludicrous as it stands now, with the crosswalk coming out from the middle school, and going to a sidewalk that ends 6 feet later. Forget about trying to cross the road and get to the bus stop safely. We need more crosswalks! |
| 53 | Jared Resnick | we already have a large highway on 15-501 south there is absolutely no reason to do this again on smith level road! |
| 54 | Steve Day | I have watched wider roads around here lately and they all attract more traffic. Wider roads "solve" traffic problems only temporarily. Once a road is widened you can never go back to a walkable, bike friendly condition. |

| 59 | Robin Schectman | The only widening I support would be for sidewalks and bike paths the entire length of Smith Level Rd. I support the roundabout plan in this petition. |

| 61 | Dianne Mattingly | please allow 'southern Carrboro' (your Smith Level Rd neighbors) the same opportunity for safe pedestrian travel as the other main arteries of Carrboro.
There are many folks living off Smith Level Rd. who would leave their cars at home and walk or ride bikes into town and/or local jobs (or even to the bus stop) if it was safe to do so.
Please do not turn Smith Level Rd. into anymore of a death trap than it already is. Especially considering the amount of new, inexperienced drivers that will be using this stretch of road, given the new Carrboro High School.
Shouldn't safety come first? |

| 77 | Pat Hurlman | I use Smith Level daily to get to work on Merritt Mill Rd. I support sidewalks and bike lanes but the widening of the road which will have to narrow to 2 lanes through Carrboro anyway. |

| 81 | Sharon Cook | Pedestrian and bicyclist safety must be a priority in any plan which the town agrees to with NC DOT. |

| 86 | Bridgitte and Miloud Araba | We wish for Smith Level Road to remain a 2 lane road with sidewalks and bike paths added to it, and a roundabout at Rock Haven Road, so that the speed limit will be honored by motorists. |

| 93 | Amy Ryan | I support the petition's request that Smith Level Road improvement not include multi-lane expansion as these would be out of keeping with the predominantly residential nature of the area.
I do, however, oppose the proposed roundabout, preferring instead a traditional stop light, which currently functions quite well at the intersection. |

| 98 | Anonymous | No widening of roads. Rather Bike lanes, sidewalks -and roundabouts. Make this area pedestrian friendly - its full of high school kids and unc students, not to mention families. |
