The petition
An internet user (who go online to search for information to send an email, participate in a chatroom, visit social bookmarking | networking websites such as Myspace, YouTube, FaceBook etc;) is actually the foundation upon which websites like Google, Yahoo, MSN and other internet money making giants make their billions of dollars each month.
With E-commerce thrown in the mix, the internet is now the largest single entity that can generate tonnes of cash you can haul off to the bank just by configuring your mega, giga and whatever bites into the pockets of online shoppers and chiefly advertisers alike.
Search Engines make billions by establishing datacenters(profit centers) filled with miles and miles of data gathered from all over the internet with having to pay any publishing fees, intellectual liscense fee to a single soul who give up their copyright for a piece of the seacg engine pie(S.E.R.P exposure of which millions of webmasters will never make it to the top 10,000 page in most search engines.
Google fiercely protects it's "copyright" - i.e it's name by coming down heavily on spoof or variations, and it's patents which it's algorithm structure actually belongs to the Harvard University - yet all the copyrights belonging to all other holders are displayed on Google without them having to pay a dime, however the same copyright that Google is not paying for and used in their search engine results is raking in billions and billions of gross/net revenue for Google!!
This petition goes out mainly to all of us online users and owners|holders of original intellectual property right who give to these large corporate internet marketing | advertising | social networking websites the freedom to exploit our works for economic benefit to our financial deficit.
My petition is that copyright holders whose material are within the parameters of these online giant money makers (whatever is publisher on the search engines et al) should be compensated in full.
A registration fee should be paid to all providers of search engine information gleaned from the web by Google and her cousins. graphical rights payments should be in order for use of all copyrighted information provided.
For online users, there is no argument against the conjecture that 1000,000 online users can provide over 1000,000,000 page downloads or page impressions to any one popular search engine or social networking website.
What if Google or Myspace were to compensate their top 10,000 users each quarter by even paying $1000.00 per user in a Loyalty Program?!!
That's a measly $10 million dollars per month,that's like spitting into a 100 foot deep well and waiting to hear a big splash.
This petition must go out to the big boys with the deep pockets that exploit our honest existence in the name of Capitalism, Ferraris and French Villas.
This petition is for every single internet user to stop using the internet for one miniscule week en block and go back for a week to 1987 when all of this wasn't within the reaches of public domain.
If no webmster updates his website, personal homepage or blog for one flipping month, the search engine spiders won't have a microbyte of new information to crawl and have indexed.
And thats how we would send a staement that we are tired of being manipulated, masticated and exploited to the billion dollar greed of a few who serves up a BIG SIX for themselves but only a half a dozen of nothing for the rest of use.
