Urge Congress to Eliminate Taxation of Education Award

The petition

We the undersigned are petitioning you, as stewards of this nation, to declare your support for national service by eliminating federal taxation on the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award and voting "YES" on HR xxxx. Since inception in 1994, AmeriCorps has engaged nearly 542,000 citizens to volunteer, serve, and address the unmet needs of our nation. These citizens have given over 705,000,000 hours toward improving the lives of all Americans by protecting the environment, strengthening education, responding to disasters, and supporting public health and safety. We the undersigned ask that you strengthen AmeriCorps by approving HR xxxx.
