Anonymous | Summer football would make more sense than winter football because you play in better weather, you get less injuries and it isn't cold.

peter gelling | This idea is absoulately greta as so many games are getting cancelled in the winter due to the inclamate conditions and it prolongs the season any way.
Jeune Robertson |
Nathan Taylor | i would like to see this happening. i am a youth footballer and most games in the winter months are called of because of frozen pitches etc . . and games are always crammed in at the end of the season. summer games would be a much better idea and stop for the winter.
Anonymous | This makes sense. Our teams need to get competetive with the rest of the world. Playing when the weather is better is advatageous to our young players. Lets give them the edge they deserve it.

Anonymous | i agree looking at some of the standards of playing surface,s out there they cant deal with all the bad weather .summer football is a MUST.more kids would take part rather than fadeing away come the winter day,s
Anonymous | I agree. Very few games have been played from Nov - Feb. The pitches don't get a chance to recover, so there's little grass on the pitches and the playing surfaces don't let you play good football. Now teams (especially those who've been involved in cup competitions have a backlog and will have to play three games a week in April / May to get through them. Not good in exam years!

Bryan Ellis | Summer Football would be a great idea as parents won't be moaning about standing next to a football pitch freezing and can't wait for the final whistle to blow. Myself and Chris Stevens are SFA Community Coaches out at Midlothian working for Keith Wright the Football Development Officer and we coach Dalkeith CYP Blues under 15s Team and would love to have summer football. where you should be wearing a T.Shirt and enjoying the game more and not getting phone calls regarding to game is off due to either waterlogged pitch or frozen pitch. I think the players in paticular would want summer football, we train on wednesday evenings and i will do a petition with my players this wednesday to see who would prefer either winter football or summer football and see what their views are regarding this.

BILLY JOHNSTON | I think the 1st week in August maybe a liitle early to restart but things need changed. It is obvious to me that it has been along time gone since the SYFA officials have had to endure the facilities available in the middle of winter, assuming things are playable at all.
Mike Tetulics | definately!

Alan Wilkinson | Summer Football is a MUST!! Winter climate change especially in the last 3 seasons demands Summer Football. Historically holidays such as the trades etc mean football was restricted to certain months of the year but summer holiday patterns have changed in recent years allowing Summer Football to flourish in Scotland.

Gerry Irvine | Time for change, my son plays and he has only had a handful of games this year-and he is one of the fortunate ones-you only have to look at the league tables to see how many games are still to be played. As well as the boys it must be extremely frustrating for the coaches who routinely give up their time and matches are cancelled at the last minute!
lorraine millar | my son plays at under16s and he gets so fed up when his games keep getting put off due to the weather and the state of some of the pitches
| 179 | Andrew Comrie | There are to many cancelled games by the grubby
council pitches that cannt take to bad weather.
Summer football is a must for all youth teams. |
gayle wright | It should be more played in the summer instead of during the winter months when the boys turn up only to be disappointed for the game to cancelled.
PAULGILLIES | AGREE IN PRINCIPAL BUT MAYBE JUST AMKE THE SEASON SHUT DOWN IN JANUARY THATS THE KILLER MONTH

bruce motion | we are fed up with all the fixture congestion due to the weather.why not play the ever-increasing cup competitions at another time & concentrate on the leagues during the better weather ?
Anonymous | This makes so much more sense than the current programme. Winter call offs and muddy pitches are no fun. January and February are the worst months, November is often still OK to play. Good luck with the campaign!
