steven rumbles | About time, this would improve youngsters football.

William Shaw | Summer football for kids is long overdue. Too many games are cancelled during the winter and travelling is more dangerous in the wet/windy/icy conditions too.

Shaun Gibson | this is a total must.
Eddie Park | The dates mentioned in the petition can be used as a guideline but the gist of the petition makes perfect sense. The weather is attrocious during the winter months and how kids are supposed to better their technique is anyone's guess. We should be utilising the summer months to coach and play football, not shutdown when the weather is at its best.
John Elder | Not too sure about the months mentioned , but wholeheartedly agree with a shutdown during the worst winter months.
connie mcintyre | hi there should be more football trainin 2 keep the young boys off streets and it would keep them out of trouble

alan baird | Time for a change, the kids are seeing very little playing time during Dec,Jan and Feb.
| 21 | Gorgie Hearts YFC | It is time for change, kids should be playing in the summer not the winter we need to get away from being old fashioned,
We need to change football Season |

alex houston | been involved in youth football for many years. Couldnt agree more, have had 9/10 year olds in tears with the cold, wheres the enjoyment in that.
brian Chisholm | As Founder of Currie Star F.C. it has long been my opinion that the current season for youth football does nothing to encourage participation in football. The parks are unplayable, the weather is frequently adverse and the training is worse due to the constant search for suitable in-door facilities. In addition parents or guardians are more likely to come out and support in better weather.

James Mason | Played youth footbal since I was 9 years old right through to last season playing in the edinburgh amateur league. Absolutely hated playing in the winter. Great Idea.
Connor Walker | I think this is a great idea to have a winter shutdown
Connor Walker | I think this is a great idea to have a winter shutdown
Niall Duffin | A very good idea, and it is one of a number that should be implemented. How about from October to March there is indoor football of the type played by Brazilians, Italians and Spanards, where the emphasise is on skill and technique rather then strengh.

Anonymous | LONG OVERDUE
Bobby | one game in the last 6 weeks due to weather and now playing on parks that have taking a pummeling and will not recover until spring. Hardly an environment that will foster player development. bring on Summer football.
Anonymous | if you want our kids to develop it sees to make sense
caroline condy |
Mad Dog | It would also help save money for the clubs as the need for indoor facilities would reduce
| 39 | Gordon Dent | My son has not played a competitive game since 15 December 2007 (almost two months).
Winter conditions do not help the development of talent. |
Paul Cheshire |
Dean Philp | I'm all for it!

linda jamieson | my son still plays youth football under 19's,they have played only 4 league games since august, partly due to cup games but mostly due to weather
Joe Mc Nee | I beleive we are well overdue in changing youth football season to February to November it would make a pleasant change to coach and watch football without being wrapped up like an eskimo
John Dodds | I coach a West Lothian under 14 side, and some of the teams in our league have played just twice in three months!
