This year baseball is implementing a pitch clock in both Double A and Triple A. The purpose is to shorten a typical baseball game from its current average of 3 hours 8 minutes. In the words of John Lester, "[a pitch-clock] will eliminate gamesmanship and take away from the game's natural beauty."
