Stephen Sears | Being in the journalism business for decades isn't enough? Yet again, NU makes another foolish, heartless decision. Never had Gladys but I did have Linc and he's a great teacher and both deserve much better than this.
Ann Chin |
Stephanie Moran | Link McKie is one of the most understanding professors I think I've ever had at Northeastern. He knows how journalism works and is an asset to the faculty. Through his class, Newsroom Practices, Link provides students the opportunity to gain clips and network with other journalists throughout the New England area.

Amanda Smith | How can the university lose two such strong teachers and mentors in the name of improving teaching and mentoring?
Brian G. Sweeney | bad policy - merit cannot be determined based solely on quantifiable figures such as degrees earned. experience from the professional engagements and success as a mentor should be at least as weighty as academic background.

pamela bennett | Northeastern must revisit their academic investment plan! A native of Massachusetts with many comrades in the industry, I wholeheartedly believe employment should be based on merit.
Anonymous | This is an outrage.
Chris McCarthy | Northeastern made a huge mistake.
Pamela King | Through my work at the School of Journalism, I have had become acquainted with Gladys McKie. She is a smart and talented woman, and I was looking forward to taking her PR class. I hope I will still have that opportunity in the future.

elizabeth giardino | I strongly disagree with the policy of ending the contracts of any professor who does not have a specific degree and truly hope that northeastern will reconsider its policy in the light of great student unhappiness. This broad policy does not guarantee a better education for students, and only serves to make the university look better on paper. true academics will, however, see right through this move.

Bill Bittar | As a former journalism student at Northeastern, I was fortunate to have enrolled in classes taught by Linc McKie. Not renewing the contracts of two instructors with Linc and Gladys McKies' rich backgrounds in the field would be a tremendous loss to future students enrolling in the program.

Robert J. Ristino, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA | Where do I begin. First, let me say that I have known both Gladys and Linc McKie for many years They are both exceptional professionals and people. There is no doubt in my mind that they both have been an asset to the university and to their students. Unfortunately in academia, being an exceptional teacher, faculty member, and person doesn't necessarily count for much whenever an insititution get sit into their collective heads that they want to be something more than what they are and what they should continue to be: an institiution dedicated to the needs of its students and not to needs of its ego. As a Northeastern University 1966 grad I can only lament this decision on behalf of my alma mater and give notice that I will no longer provide my support to the university.

Jessica Charles | Not only does the school not have a Public Relations Major but the only person who teaches the courses in public relations you are ready to get rid of.
Courtney Bolden | Gladys Mckie is one of my favorite professors at NEU!!!!!!!
