The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was bourne from the Lancashire, Northumberland, Royal Fusiliers and the Warwickshire Regiment in 1968. It then lost the 3rd Bn and is now due to loose another battalion leaving one battalion from a Regiment with such fine military history who knowing reductions were needed became the RRF in 1968 to aid this. Now the Government is asking for more. It is not fair on the regiment or those who have served it with pride. |

I was with the third Battalion when amalgamation went throught after the 90/91 Gulf War. The repercussions on manning and postings, and family life as a whole was disrupted to almost breaking point after the 3rd went.
The RRF are older than the Black Watch if you add up the order of the foot, we should be taken out of the line after them. |
