Benjamin | Waterhouse | | UK | Ex 5RRF
Evan | Warren | | UK | Once a unit is scrapped it and it's traditions and skills are lost forever - such actions should only be taken in the very, very last resort. Good luck to the 2nd Bn

John | Hill | | UK | If anything expand the Fusiliers and other larger Regiments they Your super regiments are in existence and the Fusiliers are the part of the model
Graeme | Ferguson | | UK | I believe that it is absolutely scandelous that yet again the British Government is slashing their troops and they want them to be for ever more the "Armed Wing of Oxfam"
kate | neale | | UK |
Guy | Benn | | UK | If the issue of axing the Balck Watch is so sensitive, surely the whole concept of cutting the Infantry is incorrect?
Corinne | Barwood | | UK | Why do the Paras escape every cut back despite not having a role in the modern army - parachutes were last deployed in the 2nd world war and they are unable to fulfil any other infantry role such as armoured etc. Is it to do with favouritism of the people in charge who happen to be Paras??!!!

Stuart | Nicholson | | UK | Why, when all the Scottish Regiments are disappearing anyway, is an English Regiment (with good manning) having to fall on its sword. Why is tokenism leading the descision rather than common sense. With the RRF loosing a Bn we will no doubt see the entire Queens Division becoming a single Regiment. Therefore - three English Regiments disappear so that Scotland can retain an undermanned Bn.
Chris | Calam-Hale | | | Why oh why in this age of constant deployments is th infantry squeezed just to claw back cash - Soldiering on a shoe string = bad idea !!
Trevor | Elliott | | UK | The British Army has a proud tradition of Regiments. The current level of commitment far outweighs the level of troops available to deal wwith them. Anyone looking at the current state of world affairs can see that this commitment is only likely to get bigger. We must act now to ensure we are able to continue to provide a secure defense for the British Isles and also to provide peacekeepers around the world.
Jonathan | Smith | | UK | The armed forces are already under strength - there should be NO reduction in their numbers
David | Thomas | | |
Harriett | Roderigues | | UK |
Robert | Franklin | | UK | Do not let this fine British Regiment lose another Battalion. After the first Gulf War the government rewarded their efforts by cutting the 3rd Battalion and now, after last year's war, they do the same to the 2nd Battilion. It is crazy to cut the infantry. It is one of the most over worked part of the army. Even if areas of it are understrength it is not an excuse to cut it back further. 3 understrength battalions can do more tours than 2 full strength battalions!
