When the High School splits into Smithtown East and West in the 2005-2006 school year, many students will be separated from their friends. This petition has been created for the graduating classes of 2006, 2007 and 2008. There is nothing to stop the split from happening, but there is still a chance that the students may have their Senior Prom together as one class. With two schools in attendance even more money could be raised, so there should be no budget issue. All that is needed for this idea to become a reality is the support of students and teachers from the Smithtown School District.
This petition will be up on the Web until early May, at which time it will be forwarded to the Superintendent of Smithtown Schools, Charles A. Planz.
