| 9653 | NATHANIAL | FAIRMAN | FL | US | PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW A PRIVATE FOR PROFIT COMPANY ISSUE MY FORECASTS. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SUITES US JUST FINE AND I WOULD HATE TO HAVE TO PAY JUST TO SEE WHAT THE WEATHER IS GOING TO DO. |

| 9655 | Pegeen | Singley | LA | US | Please do not discontinue the services of The National Weather Service. |
| 9656 | Timothy | Benson | | US | Unbelievable! Although it shouldn't be much of a surprise...gotta pay for the Iraq disaster somehow, eh? |
| 9657 | Kyle | Griffin | VA | | It's things like this that make me want to bring back asylums.
The free exchange of information is an integral part of the world today, and any move to stop this flow will only result in something like a black market for free weather data, and even more government money would be spent investigating people for sharing weather information. Logical? I think not. |
| 9658 | Scott | Guidry | LA | US | We need the NWS! We need free access to weather data! Thousands of lives are saved every year!!!!! |
| 9659 | Roy | Manning | FL | US | Please do not allow private for profit companines, such as accuweather, take over the weather service. If such a thing happens, how do people who cannot afford to pay for the weaher forcast get an accurate forcast of weather impending events, such as a hurricane that's heading dirrectly toward them. Hopefully, such a Bill does not pass because I think it would be a total disaster when coming to warning those in harms way of weather related events. |

| 9662 | Jody | Ballard | | | This CANNOT be voted in, but if it does, I'll personally take a LOA from my job to make sure that the NWS is dismantled as a Government agency.
As a member of the rePUBLIC, we are either going to have free, unobstructed access to ALL of the NWS info that we pay for, or we are no longer going to pay for an agency that chooses to provide their data to only commercial orgs. |

| 9667 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | | Everyday the politicians come with a new nonsense and this is the newest. Which thing they've been smoking when they came with the idea to eliminate the service we in the islands use the most? Have you been inside a powerful hurricane? We have! And it's not a preety thing. Everyday things go up! Taxes, milk, food, GASOLINE, and you want to cut our weather service that we have always get for free, to make us fill the pockets of some "Accuweather" guys that I personally thing does'nt know a bit about tropical meteorology, paying for a service that I don't trust and I don't need. Tell that private companies, don't be ridiculous, and don't mess with our NOAA service! Eliminating that service could make catastrophic results for us in the islands who rely on NOAA for our weather forecasting and for alot of people who don't have money for private services. We have the right to decide what kind of service we need... |
| 9668 | Chuck | Copeland | NC | US | It's in the best interests of all American citizens to not allow this bill to pass. Contact your local representative. |

| 9674 | David | Anderson | MA | US | |
| 9675 | Steve | Carpenter | LA | US | It is insanity to even consider discontinuing NWS services. What about older people who do not have Internet access, or those who are not aware of Rick Santorum's execrable bill? This is a public safety service and Santorum should be excoriated. |
| 9676 | James | Michalski | FL | US | |
| 9677 | Kenneth | Settlemyer | FL | US | Access to this is more than a hobby, it helps further the nuderstanding of weather and saves lives |

| 9681 | Sandy | Wren | FL | US | I think it would do a great disservice to the average person who relys on the National Weather Service for their daily forcasts. To require them to pay for the same infomation is really unfair
Thank You, |

| 9684 | Anonymous | Anonymous | | US | Once again our elected representatives stun me with the seemingly total lack of concern for the individuals who elect them. Seems to me the only people that matter anymore in this country are the ones who have a large chunk of money to contribute to campaign funds. |

| 9694 | Leslie | Matteson | | | As a resident of Florida, making us pay for lifesaving information is ridiculous. Since when is money more important than people's lives? |
| 9695 | Timothy | Moyer | FL | US | Senate Bill S.786 is about the dumbest piece of legislation in many years. Does it make sense to try to fix one of the few agencies that operates effectively? Answer: Only makes sense to a senator in Accuweather's pocket. |
