55 AnonymousI was shocked to learn of potential library closures. This would be extremely shortsighted and irresponsible.

62 Joan DewisI feel that a strong library system is one of the best and most important services that a community can have, and that cutting funding to the library will hurt many of our most vulnerable citizens, namely, children, recent immigrants wanting to learn English or French, students, to name a few.

76 Lara MacDonaldWhen we moved to Ottawa 1 1/2 years ago, we thought that one of the most wonderful aspects of our new neighbourhood (Blackburn Hamlet) was the little community library. We've used it several times per week every since. Please keep it open!

78 Seamus WolfeThe Student Federation of the University of Ottawa (SFUO) is in full solidarity with the fight to keep our libraries! SOS -save our services!
79 D.M. DavidsonIf our Libraries are to survive, we must implement user fees, to ensure City budgets do not effect Libraries in our community.

85 Marjorie LeachLibraries are essential community services. If anything, hours of opening shuld be longer to accommodate people's varied work schedules, collections should be larger and programs more numerous. Libraries are the heart of our communiitiesand are essential to our knowledge-based economy. We wouldn't reduce our access to water in the same way as proposed reductions to libraries are being floated: Libraries are an essential service in our communities.

87 Catherine FaubertLibraries are an essential part of a community. Closing branches is near sighted and does not reflect that Ottawa is a Capital City. If need be charge minimal user fees for library services or increase taxes by a small percentage.

90 Patrick MartinLibraries are essential to our development and growth as a city. Ottawa is the Capital of Canada and currently lacks a central public library befitting a capital. More funding, not less, for libraries is needed.

95 Dorothy SharpI use the ottawa library and it's services all the time, particularly the rosemount branch. I love the fact that it's small and easy to get to; please don't close it down!

97 AnonymousPlease do not close out library. I use it on a daily basis and it is my source to all my information. This library is a vital part of our community. Barrhaven would not be the same without it.

100 Don SuchaI am a Calgary researcher who uses the branch facilities of the Ottawa Public Library when I am in town. Reduction of branch services would have a direct impact on my ability to do research in Ottawa
